TMM Fashion: The Japanese Kimono

#fashion #ootd

Once in a while, it's nice to have a few dated pieces in your wardrobe to make the mundane more fun to wear. Like my classic denim shorts and plain white sequined top that usually looks boring... but throw in a Japanese Kimono over it, it adds pizzazz to such a plain outfit!

These fashionable dated pieces will eventually go out of style, but will come back. They always do.

I love how even in plain denim shorts, the Kimono can make you feel uber girly! The flow-y polyester fabric still has a nice drop. It's very soft to the feel, almost like silk that flows really naturally when you sway. *swish swish*

I love the red, black and white color combination. It's very Japanese I think, and it's very classic. You can use it during the day or the night with some strappy heels and a tight skirt like bandage.

I am enjoying my lace bracelets from IG @Les_Bling_Shop. (Thanks for sending me these! I love 'em!) They also don't claim that their bracelets is a  perfect replica/fake of the original Cruciani bracelets. They call them lace bracelets.

They come in a wide variety of colors, and for now she has three designs: Butterfly, Flower, and Infinity.

Yes, not all my purses are designer. I love shopping for fashionable, chic pieces that are not so expensive. Take this leather shoulder bag (faux leather of course), but it only costs PhP 250! How can you go wrong with 250 bucks? And I am so loving the biker look of the purse.

Uber comfy ankled boots from Parisian! I love how I can walk all day in these! It also comes in tan but black stood out more for me. The tanned ones will make your legs look longer because your legs won't be cut-off at the ankles with such a dark color which is black.

The Kimono is not limited to shorts too! You can wear it with whether tight or wide leg jeans, short skirts, and even as a cover up in the beach!

The print goes all the way in the back and look how prettily it flows when I walk? Lovely!

I like pairing my kimono with heels, so that I won't look like I am in a bathrobe. Since I don't have a petite, slender frame, I want to elongate my body with heels.

My motto this year: Wear more shoes with height! Even though I am standing at 5'5", I can never be tall enough. You always look more slender with height!

I just want to add on a more personal note, I lost a lot of weight in 2 months but I have a long way to go. I am more confident even though I am still over weight. I love that I can fit better in my old clothes too.

It's a slow process but I am confident that it will happen for me. To all who inspire to be fitter and healthier, we can do it together! Just keep the "just for today" mantra in mind. If you find yourself craving, just tell yourself "Ok, just for today, I won't eat rice/chips/soda." and eventually we will get there!

On my Face: Happy Skin SS Second Skin Cream Foundation, BenNye Banana Luxury Powder, Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls in Translucent Pearl, Nichido Minerals Precise Eye Pencil for Brows in Taupe, Collection Cosmetics Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black, MAC Riri Powder Blush Duo in Hibiscus Kiss, Chanel Rouge Coco in Gabrielle. Hair smoothed with Vidal Sassoon Magic Style Activator.

Ladies, to look and feel good, try to set goals in your wardrobe as well. Like for example, for me, it's wearing more heels because it makes me look taller and more slender. How about committing to wearing more florals? More Pastels? Maybe more skirts and less boyish jeans?

Looking great with makeup is not enough, try dressing the part as well!
