It’s a new year and with it comes change. All around us we’ll see the latest trends whether it be in fashion or in beauty. We want to know what’s hot and the hairstyles for 2007 are certainly no exception.
This year we’ll see the continuation of length in both waves and romantic curls will be favored. Hair will be more natural and undone for 2007 and chemical use is definitely out. Instead add-on hairpieces will be favored as well as anything that doesn’t damage hair. Long lengths are great for women who don’t mind taking a little time for this style. Flip through your favorite hairstyle magazine for this style then try out the secret many salons are sharing. Spritz hair with a light hairspray such as L'Oreal's Elnett Hairspray and tie your mane in a messy bun at least 30 minutes before your night out. Let hair dry for a natural wavy look without the exaggerated chemical and curling iron damage. For a celebrity copycat look, check out Jennifer Aniston and Mariah Carey who have been seen wearing this style.

Even with the popularity of length, shorter styles are certainly no stranger to 2007 latest hair trends either. Shaggy styles, pixies and bobs that are very short at the nape have suddenly become popular thanks to the celebrity and the fashion world. Curls are popular on the shorter styles as well. Short styles work well for the business world. The parted short style with curls at the ends have been spotted at The L'Oreal Colour Trophy Runway. (Photo inset: Makeup by Sabs Hernandez)
Hair accessories seem to be all the rage again this year as well. Women have been spotted in everything from headbands, to barrettes to silk flowers in their hair.
For color we’ll see women leaning toward lighter shades rather than darker ones. Also warmer shades will be a big hit. Expect shades of red and auburn to be popular as well.
Remember that the above styles will probably sport several variations, so you don’t have to stick with just one simple style. Find one that suits you. You can have your "messy-do" in an up-style, a ponytail, or just let it hang loose.

Worked on another Candy Beauty Ed with Jennie. We shot this in Kai Huang's house where his studio is too. It took us just a few hours to shoot. Kai used natural light for this, so I had to use makeup that could be seen on the camera. Otherwise, she would have looked washed out.
The main look was the lovely glossy lips, which I love to call "the pinched lips" look.

Preview Magazine came out with an issue featuring Filipino designers. We shot on location shooting these designers, and shot a separate ed featuring their designs. We shot this editorial at Summit Studio, shot by Wesley Villarica.
Alyanna Martinez was the stylist for this shoot, and Vince Uy was there to supervise the shoot. I was able to grab this picture in Wesley's website, so thanks Wes for the picture! Hahaha!

The L.U.C.I. collection will be available until May! L.U.C.I. is Lancôme's "colorless" makeup collection created by Gucci Westman. Lancôme's international chief makeup artist.
The perfect alternative for red lips for summer, are hot pink lips with glossy eyes! Red is too "hot" for summer, so cool down with a perfect shade of pink or peach!
To get the look, keep you face completely foundation free. If you must conceal, spot conceal and seal with loose powder. Use a neutral shade of eyeshadow that has a glossy finish. Lancôme came out with "colorless eye shadows and highlighters" from our L.U.C.I collection.

Hehehe... This is how I liked to call this fashion ed we did for Seventeen. I know that that was Cindy's inspiration, how to use boyish pieces in fashion!
The look was pretty simple, casual, and fresh. Whenever I look at these photos, it looks like it was taken from an international magazine. I know, I know, feeling ako... But kudos to Cindy and Paolo P.! I must confess that I would fail to credit our model because I forgot her name... I'm going to have to look for the tearsheet so I can credit her properly!

Ok, you might think that this is just another foundation. Not Lancôme's newest foundation called Photogenic Lumessence - Light Mastering Smoothing Makeup. Just when I thought I was going to go crazy when Color I.D. wasn't going to be available anymore here in the Philippines, my boss sent me this new foundation that we were going to launch, the Photogenic Lumessence!
It's light weight, and it miraculously covers any discolorations on the face and believe it or not, even dark circles! It has a slight powder/velvet finish so you can wear it either alone or under your favorite loose or compact powder. I am absolutely in love with this product! For day time wear, you can just add mascara and lip gloss! For night, you can use a darker lip color or an eye liner! Let your skin be the focus!
I used this smooth foundation on Carolina (photo) in a recent shoot we had, and she too fell in love with it. She glowed when the light hits her. It removes unwanted shine, but you glow in all the right places, leaving your skin looking very healthy! It can be worn to work everyday too because it has SPF 15!
What I do is I use it only on areas where needed. I apply it on the T-Zone where the light usually hits my face. It gives my face a certain glow, but doesn't appear sweaty. This smoothing makeup is also perfect for brides! It stays on for hours, and doesn't cake. It's sheer to give that no-makeup look, but thick enough to cover imperfections! This is what I use on my brides, and it gives that air-brush effect.
Try our new foundation at Lancôme counters! Our beauty advisers will be more than happy to help you choose the right shade for you!

Candy Mag's hair story "Mane Matters". We shot this at Ken Go's studio last year. I'm not sure already which issue this came out in.. Hehehe... Sorry :)
Anyway, the model had gorgeous morena skin and it was so easy to match her skin tone. I had to keep the makeup to a minimum so that the focus would be on her hair. We love this ed!

Gave a seminar on Corporate Makeup and Grooming for the women (and men) of ZMG Signium Ward Howell. The girls learned about proper makeup and for the boys, grooming, for the corporate environment. I gave a demo on how to transform looks from day to evening makeup, and afterwards the girls were treated to free threading and gifts from Lancôme!
Then, Sheryl came to talk about her makeup brush sets by SUESH (which I personally use and endorse)! Check out these great brushed from SUESH at http://suesh.multiply.com!

A cute beauty ed for Candy Mag shot by Pat Dy. This wasn't the first time I have worked with Belle, I previously did her makeup for Preview's Powder Room a few months back. She's so simply and very pretty! She has gorgeous skin so modeling for this beauty story was perfect.

I had a shoot with the photography team of Everywhere We Shoot for YStyle in Fully Booked in Powerplant. I posted this one because loved the concept of the shoot. It was simple, but I loved how the models were shot on the shelves and stuff.

When Lancôme launched its Pop Cherub collection, I immediately used it for an ed for Seventeen Magazine that shot a headband story. Fortunately, when I used the collection, it was still available 2 months later when the issue came out!

Shoot with Poch Ignacio in his Mandaluyong Studio. We were all free one Sunday morning so we decided to make our "egg" concept come to life. We saw in a Singapore magazine a series of shots where the model was coming out of an egg, and we were inspired by it!
The most challenging part of it all was not putting makeup for the egg shot that required face paints and hi-pigment eye shadows... It was erasing it and making it all nude and bare! Haha! We finished early with the avant garde shot so we decided to stay and take more shots.
AH LUV IT!

I did my high school best friend Malloi's makeup (and Celine, Tita Jovie, Tita Cookie, Chesca, and Melissa) for her wedding. This was my wedding gift for her :) We started makeup at 10:30AM and finished at 2:30PM. After Malloi and everyone else left for the church, I had to stay behind in Malloi's room to do my makeup, dress up, and pack up my kit and stuff before heading for the church. I missed Malloi walking down the aisle, but I'm glad I did! Otherwise I would've cried like a baby! Haha!

I did this 4 page holiday feature for Preview Magazine last December 2006. It was the first time I worked with Lilen Uy the photographer, and I was reunited by contributing stylist Raymond Abrenica.
Hairstylist pioneer and legend Ogie Rayel did the hair. I have worked with him in several shoots already so we have become friends. Anyway, our models were Luke Jicain and Polyanna from Brazil. We shot the whole day because we had to change hair, makeup, clothes, and set every layout! It came out amazing...

Aside from my Lancôme Photogenic Lummesence Foundation 03, L'Extreme WP Mascara, and my Juicy Tubes glosses, I used to think that having liquid hand soap and mints were the staple things I should always have in my bag.
Yesterday, I came from an important meeting and was already running late for a formal dinner party at a friends' house. I promised I wasn't going to be late and would look made up (I always show up in jeans and hardly no makeup on my face). It was her 28th birthday and said this could be my gift for her.
Anyway, I stopped over at McDonald's because I have this no-putting-makeup-in-the-car-rule. I dressed up really quickly and I suddenly remembered that I had no way to put my makeup on. I brought my makeup but forgot to bring my long handled brushes with me (which I always do when I need to put makeup on). I was almost out of the ladies room when I suddenly remembered the 5-pc Suesh brush set that Sheryl gave me the day before from the seminar I gave. There it was in my bag, sitting nice and pretty in my not-so-over sized bag (which means it is so light weight and compact that I didn't notice), still wrapped in plastic.
I am so happy with this set because it comes in soft leather casing and the red handles makes it look so hip and chic! This tiny bag of heaven was a real life saver. For all you gals who are always on the go, this set is a must-have! Leave your long-handled brushes at home where it belongs (and throw away those little brushes that came with your blush and eye shadow sponge applicators that came with your eye shadow palette), and get your hands on this 5-pc professional set for you to carry around. THE Perfect travel companion! Only available at SUESH!
Set includes (L-R) Eyebrow brush, eye shadow contour brush, blush/powder brush, eye shadow applicator, lip/concealer brush, and soft black leather casing.
