One sure-fire way to relax and have some me-time is either going to a nail salon, or a spa to get a massage. I always enjoy a good mani-pedi, and having to relax there always makes a bad day/mood turn good.

Since we moved to Paranaque, I was not yet familiar with the nail salons in our area, so I always opted for a home-service nail mani pedi by Massage By Us. What turned to be a weekly appointment for me with them, turned to weeks in between because their one and only nail technician resigned, and it has been months of no mani pedi for me.

I always used to go to Dashing Diva for a nail spa when we lived in Makati, and now that we are South people, the closest one to our house is in Alabang Town Center. It is a good 30 minutes away because of the lousy traffic, and I needed to find a nail salon somewhere closer to home. Fast.

If you are an avid reader of my blog, then you would know how much of a GIRL STUFF Fan I am. You can still read my feature on GIRL STUFF here and SOLIQUE here. In fact, I got so obsessed with their polish that I hoarded their stuff online and had them shipped to my house.

Oh! You can shop for Girl Stuff and SOLIQUE here! So imagine my delight when FINALLY they opened a kiosk in Glorietta! I visit their Kiosk every time I go to the mall even though I practically own most of their collection now.

I love having my nails done! I think that aside from getting a massage, they're the most relaxing thing ever if a girl is stressed. I remember skipping lunch break when I was still working in an office to have my nails done instead.

3 weeks ago, I spent a good chunk of my Saturday having my nails done with my sister and her daughter. My niece loves having her nails done at Dashing Diva too so I tagged along with the mother daughter tandem.

I have been hooked with Girl Stuff nail polish ever since I was introduced to them by my friend and beauty blogger Nikki Tiu a few months ago. Since then, Girl Stuff has been my go-to nail polish store for all my nail polish needs. Ordering them online is not bad because they ship quite fast too! Plus, they're starting to pop up everywhere so it's pretty convenient to get them! If you read that post I posted a few months back when I first tried them, then you would know how much I love them. I guess now it's safe to say that because I have been so happy with Girl Stuff nail polishes, I have become pretty biased over them. I prefer them now more than I do other imported brands. That's because I am very confident about their formula, and they have NEVER failed me yet. Ever. So everyone who would ask for a recommendation what a good nail polish brand is that is affordable, Girl Stuff was always my recommendation.

So, for those of you who have been following me for a while now would know that I am a polish addict; although sometimes, when I do my makeup or when I dress up, I find myself trying to match my nail polish instead of the other way around. If I like a particular outfit, I would have to change the color of my polish but there just isn’t time to remove the polish and painting on a different color to match my outfit –not to mention, the painful time it takes for them to dry!

Yesterday was spent blogging, purifying and rehydrating my skin (which I will post next), and painting my nails. I wanted to get creative with and do a little bit of nail art but at the same time I wanted to keep it simple.

I remember seeing this online somewhere, an easy DIY paint spatter nail art that anyone can do! So I decided to give it a go. The best part? It's very easy to do too!

I love nail polish! I mean, who doesn't? Aside from lipstick, it's the fastest way to dress up your outfit for whatever occasion: casual? formal?

I think that having one's nails done is very relaxing and totally the best way to spend lazy Sunday afternoons. Recently though, I have been more cautious with the nail polishes that I choose to put on my nails because there have been so much articles about harmful chemicals in nail polish. And not just because I am pregnant. Women should avoid the harmful 5s at all cost specially when they love putting on nail polish!

But thank goodness for brands that are now coming out with '5-FREE' polishes (Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl-phtalate, Formaldehdye-resin and camphor). And because it is 5-Free, it is safe not only for kids and pregnant women, but for all actually!

So, here's how my Friday night went down. I spent the late afternoon sitting on a comfortable lounge chair having a deluxe mani pedi at Belle & Cat's Nail and Wax Studio in Legaspi Village. Call me "grandma", but I would totally trade in a smokey and bottles of beer for some pampering!

The best thing about nail polish that chip is that you have the excuse to finally change the color! Yay! This flirty shade may be worn either during the summer or for fall. I like that it's so versatile you can wear it no matter what season! Don't you just love those? Seems you'll be getting so much out of your money!

So, having your nails done is a one sure fire way of getting rid of BVs after a long hard day. I am always on the look out for great nail salons (not to mention, value for money places), and I haven't been to a new nail salon in a while since I always have my nails done at Bench\Fix. They're cheap, and their polishing techniques make the color last for a while for some reason.

Leaving for sunny Vietnam today for vacay and I just can't wait! 

Summer is just around the corner and I am really excited to whip out my summer nail colors, starting now! At my birthday party last month, my friend Naisa gave me a set of nail polishes from China Glaze. They were all gorgeous, but it was this one that I got really excited about. I was at Landmark shopping for unnecessary beauty stuff with one of my closest friends Carla a few days ago. And as we were about to pay, she asked me about nail foils/nail stickers that you frequently see in department stores and polish brands. I told her that a couple of months ago, I bought myself a box of Sally Hansen's Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips to try but didn't like it since I didn't do it right (coz it came out all wrinkly). She did however, still bought some (another brand) for herself to try since they were cheap anyway.

I regretted not buying some for myself as soon as I got home because I couldn't stop thinking about them. So, after my meeting in Greenbelt 5 yesterday with a client, I popped by Landmark to buy several designs from several different brands so I can give them another try. And I am so glad I did! (Carla, this is for you! ♥)

This summer, add some glitter to your nails! Summer is not just about wearing pastels or neons on your nails. Adding glitter will make your nails look even more fun on the beach!
