Have A 'Sparkling' Summer Ahead!

*For my nails in this photo, I used a plain white polish as primary color. Topped with #7 (let it dry), and layered it with #2, both from first set.

This summer, add some glitter to your nails! Summer is not just about wearing pastels or neons on your nails. Adding glitter will make your nails look even more fun on the beach!

I promised myself to post a new blog entry once a day in the morning. But I had to rush this post before this nail polish set gets sold out at Forever 21. After a long day of shooting today, I passed by SM Makati to buy a BB Cream (which I will feature very soon). After an hour of cosmetic kiosk hopping, I finally chose the perfect cream and paid for my stuff (emphasis on the stuff... I ended up not buying only BB Cream).

Good thing I decided to pass by Forever 21's cosmetic area (my favorite part of the whole store), and discovered their newly displayed nail polish sets.


They had 2 variations of this set, but I will start with the colored ones first. The first time I encountered Forever 21's Love & Beauty nail polish was during my visit to San Francisco 2 years ago. I wouldn't say that their lacquers are as good as OPI, Orly, or China Glaze, but they are not bad either.

The consistency is good and the polish doesn't dry out easily. As long as you store them in a cool dry place (or in my case, the refrigerator), they really last a while. You can't get the full on color or the full effect of the polish with just one coat, so layering 2 or 3 coats is necessary. Just remember to give layer a few minutes to dry a little bit before adding on layers.

I painted my nails white to show you these swatches. The polishes from this set is more on a top coat with glitter, so a base coat is required. In my case, I applied a plain white base coat so you can see the effect of each polish.

There are 7 colors in a box so I had to do extra fingers in one hand (I do this because I love you guys ♥)

If you ask me, the last one is my favorite. It looks like cupcake sprinkles and I immediately fell in love with it! Ha!

Now the second set... 

The Silver & Gold theme may be a little over done, but it's the different shapes and sizes of the glitter that has got me interested.

The Silver & Gold Polish Set consists of the same number of nail polish.

But that last lacquer is a clear top coat so I feel a little bit stiffed on that one. Hahaha! Greedy much?

 The fourth shade is a little bit out of place because it neither has a silver or a gold undertone, it was sort of nude beige (sort of like a seashell shade), but it has got to be my favorite among the rest from this set. The finish is a gorgeous pearlized shine.
