TMM Fashion: The Eazy Breezy Kaftan

#fashion #ootd

It's my day off again today from work and I spent the day with my mom, my sister and her girls swimming and lounging around at the Serendra poolside. We had just planned to spend a lazy day today so I wanted to dress for the occasion.

I wanted to wear something that would be easy to lounge in but still be able to look dressed up if we did decide to eat downstairs at the restaurants, which we did. Had a long brunch at Mamou (Duck Flakes... YOWZA!)

Today, I gave myself a challenge to wear everything from Landmark, except the purse and the shoes though. And here is what I came up with! I have a lot of nice pieces from Landmark (sings "Living it up at Landmark..."), and since clothes and accessories are not my passion, I like looking for budget friendly items in stores that are not so expensive, but updated classic pieces. I am a bag and shoes kinda gal.

Authentic Indonesian Batik Kaftan from Mahabarata, Landmark

I love Kaftans -but you have to be careful on how you wear it though otherwise it can look a little duster-ish or something your labandera would wear. Landmark has a huge section of kaftans so choose the print wisely. Some are too "manang" and too provincial so choose prints that are a little bit modern and classy.

Oh! Are you wondering how I got my hair look so tousled? I used Snoe's Hair Heroes Super Fresh Texturizing Beach Waves Spray!

I love adding pops of color when my colors are too monotonous like black and white. Although that looks good sometimes, I like adding loud colors to give it life.

I got this Kaftan from Landmark for 500 bucks. I love that your 1 thousand pesos can go a long way in that department store. Trouble is, you can hardly find stuff with sizes. They're mostly marked FS (Free Size), which means it's one size-fits all, which of course is not the case.

Pale Gold Baroque Trimmed Frames, Landmark
Don't you just love my sunnies? I love that they're so fun and so classy. They kind of remind me of Dolce and Gabbana's Sicilian Baroque Sunglasses. They also have this in a muted moss green color and a muted red. I want to go back to Landmark to get the other colors! They're a steal at 300 bucks!

Choose a flow-y fabric when you are looking to purchase your first Kaftan. I love wearing them, I actually have quite a few of them but most of them are sheer for the beach. I love them because they're so easy to dress up and accessorize!

One of the best things I love about Kaftan dresses whether it be long or short, is that they can make you look 10 pounds lighter as long as you choose the right flattering fabric and color.

    1. Landmark has a lot of classy looking accessories, you just need to choose very well and carefully! There are a lot of stuff there so it could be a little overwhelming. I just bought these recently, but if I remember correctly, the lion cuff is 150 pesos, the oversize chain with the thread detail is 230 pesos!
