I have always been a fan of MAC powders because of the fabulous coverage it gives even when you use it on its own.

Honestly, when I received this powder, I had no idea how to use this because this is the first time I came across it being one of those people who stuck with their MAC Studio Fix foundation for a long time. I was a little pissed with my current makeup base that day I received this powder and I just couldn't wait to try and use it with the current liquid foundation I had at home and see if it will at least bring my foundation to life.

True enough, this skinfinish natural did such an excellent job on giving my somewhat pasty liquid foundation the most natural look on my skin that I call this powder the miracle powder. This is quite expensive for a compact though but by using it with a powder brush, you get to use it for a long time.

CC Cream is probably the most underrated product in the market today. It's not making that much noise as what the BB Cream did when it first came out, but honestly? For me, CC Cream is the most color adapting cream there is out there. Better than the BB Cream.

The last CC Cream I tried was Clinique's Moisture Surge CC Cream, and I loved that one. CC Creams blend so well into the skin that it gives no trace of makeup anywhere. You may find it to be a sheer and thin at the beginning but as it sets, it color corrects the skin making uneven tones look flawless.

I love eyeshadow palettes. I think you get so much more than just the 4 shades. You can create countless looks and they all complement each other well. I received this Pedro Lourenço eyeshadow quad from MAC a couple of months ago and I have been using it on quite a number of brides. Of course, I had to use it on myself first before I was feeling generous enough to share it with my brides, and all of these eyeshadow shades can be blended with my existing eyeshadows to make a new shade.

Ok, I know this Mac Riri Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow in Phresh Out was last year's Holiday Collection and may not be available anymore, but it's so pretty that it deserves a blog post! When this was given to me, I wasn't sure how to use it because it might be too pearlized. I was always afraid of pearl shadows (except for highlighting maybe), because I don't have deep-set eyes and applying pearlized shadows will just make my eyes look more puffy. I din't want to swatch it too because I didn't want to mess it up without having to take photos first. #kikayproblems

But I finally took the leap and just went on with it! It's all about experimenting anyway, right?

I have been obsessed with dewy skin for as long as I can remember. I love that it makes skin look very healthy and supple as opposed to uber matte skin. This of course is my personal preference.

I have been on the look out for a powder that would give me the look of dewy skin without the added sparkle and shimmer. You gals have no idea how long I have been looking for a product that gives this kind of effect. Thank you so much MAC for this! I am so happy!

This is my first MAC blush duo so I am very excited to try it on! I am a fan of blush that has two shades combined no matter what brand. I think that it is the perfect solution to solve the "which blush would suit my skin tone best?" dilemma. I love that blush duos look good either for fair skinned women or morenas.

These cosmetic companies combine two shades together: warm and cool tone. Usually these duos combine a bronzer that is complemented with a cool toned blush that blend well together, and the result will just be flawless.

Hey ladies! I'm back with another series of Splurge vs. Steal! Sorry it took me a while to post a new one... I had to compile, use, assess and test each product! But anyway, I finally did it and I am here to share with you my latest "discoveries"!

I can't emphasize this more: When I do the Splurge vs. Steal series, I do not indicate which is the better product or which is superior. This is for those who would like to get same results for a lower price tag.

1. BENEFIT Porefessional (P1,600) vs. MAYBELLINE Pore Eraser (P229)

I'm not much of a pore eraser kind of girl but when I tried Benefit's Porefessional, I was impressed! I never put on makeup without it now. My first tube was about to run out and I wanted to look for an alternative so that I can compare the two. I have tried 3 other pore refining products that you can use before makeup but only one stood out, and that was Maybelline's Pore Eraser.

The first on my list is SkinLite's Make-up Cleansing Tissues. I have been using this for a while for my clients because it's very gentle on the skin. When I was starting out as a makeup artist, I remember investing in MAC Wipes, and after being years in the industry, it was just silly to spend that much for wipes.

I have tried a few makeup remover wipes in the market, and this is the one that came closest to MAC. Well... Except the scent. MAC has a subtle fresh scent while SkinLite has kind of an aloe, tea-tree oil scent to it. It smells good, it's just a little far from that of MAC's.

For all you ladies who are addicted to face primers, ELF may be a good alternative for you. And to some who find having to put primers on the face makes the foundation cakey, that just means you have layered on too much.
