#aboutface

I have always been a fan of Avon Cosmetics. I think they make such good cosmetics at a very affordable price. Even their skin care is on point! And not only their skin care or their makeup, but they also make expensive-smelling perfumes and lingerie (and more!)

It's exciting for me to share that they are out with their new Ideal White line with Glutathione makeup, and I must say that I am so impressed with these. To be honest, it's been a while since I last used a base, whether it be a liquid foundation, pressed powder or powder foundation, that is very seamless and blends really well on the skin.

AVON IDEAL WHITE DUAL POWDER FOUNDATION SPF24 PA++
"Get flawless, maximum coverage and whiter skin instantly and over time with Ideal White Pressed Powder with Glutathione. Glutathione is a powerful effective whitening antioxidant. Ideal White's Whitesphere technology helps inhibits melanin production and fade dark spots while Wonderlight diffuses light for radiant and illuminated skin."
Avon Ideal White Dual Powder Foundation
This powder foundation comes in four pinay-friendly shades: Natural, Neutral, Oriental, and Medium.

I think the Medium shade is the most versatile shade of all. I have fair skin, and yet this medium shade is perfect for my skin tone and color.
It has a velvet-y finish that has medium-full coverage that can cover light blemishes real well. If you have darker spots that you would like to cover, you can still use a liquid foundation under this powder without it looking too cakey or too thick.

In my opinion, this is a much improved formula than the Ideal Luminous Powder Foundation they sold about three years ago.
AVON IDEAL WHITE PRESSED POWDER SPF21 PA+++
"Get flawless coverage and whiter skin instantly and over time with Ideal White Pressed Powder with Glutathione. Glutathione is a powerful effective whitening antioxidant. Ideal White's Whitesphere technology helps inhibits melanin production and fade dark spots while Wonderlight diffuses light for radiant and illuminated skin."
Avon Ideal White Pressed Powder
Pressed powders are lighter than powder foundations. For those who like to remove the shine and yet provide a light coverage. This powder will not completely cover blemishes but is perfect for setting liquid foundation, and removing the shine!

I love how this pressed powder does not have a chalky texture. It has a velvet finish as well! Plus the fact that it does not have a strong perfume smell, it's always a plus for me.
I received two shades from my Avon family, but this pressed powder comes in four yellow-toned shades: 10G Oriental, 10G Natural, 10G Neutral, and 10G Medium.
With my fair skin tone, my shade is neutral. It applies smoothly on my skin and almost looks transparent because it is a spot-on match.
These powders cater to Filipinas so their shades are mostly yellow toned.
AVON IDEA WHITE ESSENCE FOUNDATION SPF50+ PA+++

Now this is the most I am excited to talk about. I have been using this foundation everyday for about two weeks and I think it's safe to say that aside from my two favorite foundations: Lancôme ABSOLUE Sublime Rejuvinating Essence Foundation and Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF15 PA+, this is the foundation I find myself reaching out for, and I have been calling this my HG foundation in spite of the humid weather.

I don't usually wear foundation everyday (only when I have an event or a meeting to attend), but this foundation is so comfortable to wear that I barely notice that I have makeup on!
Avon Ideal White Essence Foundation
I am hoping that they would make this a staple product in their cosmetics line but I know that eventually, this will no longer be available in their catalogue, which makes me want to hoard them.

With my fair skin, my shade is WL 06 MEDIUM. Natural is a little bit peachy for me, while Neutral is too light for me. Medium shade is perfect.
The Ideal White Essence Foundation comes in three shades: Natural, Medium, and Neutral.
I dotted the foundation to the five key areas of my face and used my OVAL MAKEUP BRUSHES to blend out the foundation. What I love about this brush is that it doesn't use up more foundation than necessary because it's not absorbent unlike other brush hairs and sponges. So all it does is blend the product out, and buff the foundation to a good seamless finish.
You can see how seamless this foundation is and it blends really well on the skin. It does not give the floating head look which most foundation do. This one melts like second skin, and it's really flexible too! It moves with your skin easily and does not set on the lines of your face.
I then used the Ideal White Pressed Powder to set the foundation using my CHARM Pretty in Pink Vegan Powder Brush. The finish is really flawless and it does not give a pooling effect on the skin nor does it look cakey too!
It looks a little bit thick on camera because this is freshly applied makeup, but once it sets (about 15-20 minutes later) when the makeup mixes with the natural oils of your face, the skin will look dewy and natural.
About the lasting power of all three bases, they last all day about 8-12 hours of wear even when sweating! It does not "melt" easily off your face even with the heat outside. Since I get oily on my nose, this is the only area I would retouch with powder. But the other areas stay intact.

With regards to the ingredient Glutathione the Ideal White line has, I don't think you will end up looking like a kabuki by the time you finish a pan of powder foundation or a bottle of liquid foundation, but it will protect your skin from the sun with its high SPF, and will more or less correct uneven skin and dark spots rather than bleaching your skin white.

Are you a foundation wearer? Which one is your choice of base?

  1. This is quite multitasking, though I'm hesitant to try out bases without actually swatching them as I'm OC about shade-matching.

    1. Yes, I agree... I guess that would be the only problem when ordering from Avon... You can't swatch them before you buy...
