Why I started adding ALOE to everything

by - Friday, July 10, 2015

A few months ago (I think I had just given birth then), I received this wonderful basket of organic Aloe to use for the skin. I have always been a fan of aloe vera because it really works in not just nourishing the skin but the hair as well.

I have started adding Aloe Derma's Pure Aloe Vera Gel to my lotion and have been applying it on my tummy where the stretch marks have appeared when I gave birth, and I can really feel and see the difference on my skin. And because of the anti-allergic property of aloe vera is useful in the treatment of various skin diseases like eczema, psoriasis, itchy skin and the list goes on. They are helpful in curing blisters, insect bites and other allergic reactions as well. Using face masks with aloe vera or adding aloe vera to some ingredients to make a home made mask will boost your skin's glow and health. Aloe vera isa boon for people who have a sensitive skin type.

Aloe Vera, is referred to as the ‘plant of immortality’ by the ancient Egyptians, and was wildly used for its healing properties since then. Aloe Vera plants are commonly found in the African regions and belong to the Xanthorrhoeaceae family, known for its succulent or fleshy leaves. This nontoxic plant stores water in its leaves and survives in low rainfall and arid regions. Aloe Vera leaf looks unique; it doesn’t have any stems and the edges of leaves have tiny spikes.

More after the break...

The gift basket given to me came with little jars filled with other organic ingredients. Ingredients that you can mix together to create masks or other face mask recipes to your liking. It came with a little recipe pamphlet too but I forgot to take a photo of that one.

I made myself a honey, oatmeal and aloe mask which I left on my face for about 30 minutes. And when I washed it off, my skin really felt extremely hydrated. And because Aloe Vera is considered to be a miracle plant. Since it contains phytochemicals and other nutrients which are very beneficial for the hair and skin.
You can more or less research hair mask recipes and just add aloe in those recipes. I love that you can add this to everything! I even tried mixing it with my conditioner and I swear, my hair felt so smooth and looked so shiny afterwards. Plus, my scalp felt really fresh and light.

I have also been applying the gel directly on my scalp when  my scalp is really flaky. I leave it on for 30 minutes under a shower cap and I wash it off. After several applications, my itchy flaky scalp was gone. Although it keeps coming back when I stop so I know that I have to keep doing this so that eventually my dandruff will finally be gone for good.
