#aboutface

Finally I am able to catch up a little bit on blooging. Boy, do I miss it! Although I do miss it, I have a little one at home who is taking p most of my time too! Ok, so this is the first time I got to use a foundation from Etude so it was a pretty exciting time for me! LOL Yes, new products really excite me and I can't wait to share my experience.

Etude House Stay Up Foundation in Pure 25g, PhP 778.00

More about this foundation after the jump!

There is nothing special about the packaging, and I don't mean anything bad by that. I just mean it's pretty simple and functional. It's kind of small for a foundation bottle because you might think that you will finish this product fast but I tell you that it takes a while to finish this foundation! I'll show you in a while.
The shade is not indicated in the box but instead it is written on the packaging itself. PURE is the name of the shade, and this foundation comes in other shades like BEIGE and SAND.
According to the box, it says: "This foundation completes smooth and flawless make-up with its smooth up, cover up, moist up "Stay up" formula."

The box doesn't indicate whether this foundation is good for someone with oily or dry skin, and it didn't even state if it's moisturizing or made to withstand high humidity, but after trying the foundation first hand, I think that I can properly asses who it's good for. I feel that it really did good for my dry skin around the cheek area, and also good for my oily nose. It sort-of balanced my skin.
It has a pointed nozzle which allows you to dispense product a little at a time which is a good thing. I hate having to dispense too much product and you are forced to put everything on your face to avoid wasting any! Si the key to applying this product is to start with as little as possible. This will allow a much more natural finish on your skin.
It has a slightly creamy/watery consistency which makes is easy to spread on your skin. I love it because it sort-of feels gel to me but it's not! It just has a high absorption rate.
It disappears or rather gets absorbed by the skin fast! It has a seamless finish which is how your foundation should look. That, and the fact that this shade matched my skin perfectly.
Initially, I thought that the shade was way too light for me but as I spread it on my skin, making the foundation as thin as possible on my skin, it blended real well making it look so natural on my skin. I love using the SOFFIA Opulence Perfect Skin Foundation Brush.
The only thing I guess I don't like about this foundation is that it didn't do anything to my enlarged pores on my nose. It's been a problem during pregnancy (when these photos were taken), and my pores haven't returned back to their normal size yet (I am really hoping that it does go back! LOL)
Finishing up with pressed powder, I used Covergirl TruBlend Minerals Mineral Pressed Powder in Translucent Light because it gives a really soft and light finish. My pores are more covered but they are still visible. But looks natural nonetheless.
Overall, I would definitely repurchase this foundation because it feels light on my skin and doesn't make me look cakey!

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:
PROS
  • Glides on silkily on the skin giving a soft velvet-y finish.
  • Does not emphasize dry skin.
  • Doesn't emphasize fine lines.
  • Affordable!
  • Conveniently available in SM Watson's.
  • Gives a very natural skin-finish, specially when applied using fingers.
  • Dewy finish on the skin!
  • Doesn't have a weird fragrance, safe for sensitive skin.
  • Safe for girls or teens.
  • Perfect for women who would want to wear something on their face but don't like the heavy feel of foundation.
  • Perfect for hot, humid days this summer.
  • Didn't cause my skin any breakouts.

NEUTRAL
  • N/A

CONS
  • It didn't cover my large pores too well.
