Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil

by - Wednesday, July 15, 2015

I have always believed in cleansing oils. In ever interview I ever did, when I am asked what my favorite beauty product was/is, I would always say: Cleansing Oil. The reason why I love cleansing oils is that it erases everything I put on my face at night. I love playing with makeup and wearing them the whole day, and when I get home and I am going to bed, I want to be dirt, oil, and makeup free and cleansing oils do that!

After giving birth, like I have mentioned in most of my recent posts, my skin has felt really rough because it's so dry! I guess my hormones are still a little crazy and I still haven't restored more of my sebum back, so I need cleansing oils to remove makeup and cleanse my face, heavier creams for day and night, and avoid alcohol-based toners. I am also using loads of serums which really help my skin a lot.

I have tried several cleansing oils in the past, but only few tickle my fancy. And this is one of them!

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil 200ml

Love cleansing oils too? More about Clinique's Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil after the break!

The good news is that much like most cleansing oils that I have tried in the past, Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing oil is unscented - perfect if you have sensitive skin as it will not irritate it or if you simply don't like scented products.
In my opinion, Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil is a gentle cleanser yet completely effective in removing all traces of my makeup with ease (even heavy foundation, waterproof mascara, eyeliner and eyebrow products), and it leaves my skin feeling both soft and hydrated which isn't all that easy at the moment since my skin has been battling dryness recently (hence, the much needed Tony Moly Banana Sleeping Pack).
It has a slightly runny consistency, similar to Lancome or Shu Uemura cleansing oil which is really what I like. It's easily washable with water too so that's the best part. I don't really like cleansing oils that can't be washed away with water (you have to use a cleanser), just like Human Heart Nature's Sunflower Cleansing Oil.
I rather enjoyed that it is safe to use on the eye area and removes mascara without pulling or tugging on such a delicate area. I just massage the area in circular motions to gently remove the product away from the hairs. On the skin, Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil feels light and luxurious, to use this cleansing oil is quite the treat to apply. It quickly melts off all traces of make-up without stripping the skin off its natural oils, despite being an oil it is suitable for all skin types - yes even oily and dry complexions!

When you rinse it off, you can go without applying moisturizer because it leaves your skin feeling moisturized without the cracking, tight feeling on the skin.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:

  1. Hi Ms Sabs, great to see you blogging regularly again! Anyway, can this remove Japanese waterproof mascaras? The other cleansing oils just make my eyes blurry, so I practically have to live with Heroine mascara-ed eyes for a few days. ugh.

    1. Hi Valerie! Yes! It's so good to blog again! Henri is a bit older now so I have a bit more time to it down and blog! Anyway, yes! In my experience I am able to remove waterproof mascaras even the really hard to remove like Maybelline's Great Lash! As all cleansing oil goes, this too will make your eyes blurry so what I do is that, I remove my makeup in the shower. I massage the cleansing oil on my eye lashes and wash my face in the shower. If my eyes get blurry, I run running water with my eyes open like I would when swimming under water and blink several times to wash away the excess oil. This should work!

Do let me know how this technique works out for you! ♥
