No Need for Surgery when you've got Canmake's Nose Shadow Powder!
#faceitwednesdays #aboutface
Why opt for surgery when you can fake it with contouring? When applied the right way, it could enhance your makeup features! Unfortunately I threw away the receipt that would tell me how much I bought this for but I promise I'll find out from Canmake and update this post!
Canmake Nose Shadow Powder |
The packaging is quite simple but very sturdy. The plastic is not the flimsy type that's why I like it. The Japanese don't scrimp on their packaging that's why I feel safe and confident to buy them.
Again, I would love it if I could read the labels but that's not really important to some people. As you can see below, the shading powder is pretty subtle. It's not very dark and it still has a yellow undertone instead of orange ones.
I don't know why the highlighting powder is more though because you contour more than you highlight. So I don't know why they made it this way.
Th brush is pretty soft for a brush that comes with cosmetics, trust the Japanese to give you great packing and quality stuff. The brush takes some used to in controlling.
When I swatched the 2 powders on my hand, you can see that the shading powder is very very subtle, it doesn't stand out nor is it orange undertone as with most bronzers. This one is a dark flesh color so it matches most tisays.
The highlighting powder on the other hand has an iridescent finish so if you use too much on the tip of your nose it could appear oily. So use this sparingly.
Now this is my makeup look without contouring. You can see that my wide nose (yes, I know that I have a wide nose. LOL) is emphasised and it looks like my eyes are too far apart from each other.
And this is me using the nose powder. You can see that my face is more defines and features come out because you can now see the bridge of the nose!
I only used my middle finger to apply the highlighting powder because I already used the brush for contouring. I don't want mixing them together because you can end up shading the wrong area.
Here are the photos of me side by side so you can see the difference contouring makes to a makeup look:
ON MY FACE: Happy Skin Don't Get Mad Get Even Moisturizing Liquid Foundation, CanMake Marshmallow Finish Powder, K-Palette Lasting 2Way Eyebrow, Collection Cosmetics in Blushalicious, CanMake Nose Shadow Powder, Avon Ultra Glazeweare Lip Gloss in Tangerine Gleam
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:
PROS
- Very natural looking!
- Great packaging -very compact. Complete with safety seals.
- Affordable. And definitely worth the price.
- High quality brush.
- Yellow tone. Suits most Asian skins.
- Easy to blend. No professional blending required.
- Buildable. You can start light and just build from there.
- Velvet smooth texture.
- Non-chalky.
- High-quality Japanese ingredients.
NEUTRAL
- Non-English labels.
- Canmake only has a few stores for now.
- Brush is hard to control, but you will get used to it.
- Would be nice if they had equal parts of shadow and highlight powders.
- Only has 1 shade available, shading powder may not be seen on dark skin.
Will I re-purchase? Yes.
Will I recommend it? Yes.
MY OVERALL RATING: ★★★★★

I know right? This is my favorite contouring powder for the nose!
Deletei was wondering about the portions too! maybe japanese like to highlight more than they contour? :D they should come out with more shades... this won't show up on morenas...
ReplyDeleteLOL So weird right? But according to a Japanese makeup artist, they do highlight more than they contour to give a youthful appearance when the cheeks are more prominent, the cheekbones higher, etc! ♥
DeleteWow, I want to try that out!

DeleteGreat! and I love the packaging, it's cute. I haven't tried this one tho, a regular matte brown eyeshadow works for me :)

On a side note, I think the proportions of the shading powder vs. the highlighting powder says a lot about what they find beautiful.
