My Thoughts on Majolica Majorca's Honey Pump Gloss Neo

#liptalktuesdays

I am not a lip gloss kinda gal nor am I one to completely ignore it too. But when I do come across something new, I can't help but try it! Majolica Majorca is known for their fantastic mascaras but I have never tried their lipgloss before. This one is from my sister's best friend, she brought it all the way from Japan for me to try.

Majolica Majorca Honey Pump Gloss Neo in RS456, PhP 295.00
I don't really use a lot of lipgloss on myself but I love using them on my brides and in shoots. They add dimension to the lips and they give so much character and life to the makeup look. Unless of course it's a matte look we're going for.

Gotta love Japanese packaging. I am kinda liking this hard plastic packaging versus paper/carton ones because you can see the product! I am very shallow that way, I really love my packaging and sometimes I judge a product by them! Hahaha!

One the tube, it looks like a hot pink gloss with a blue undertone. Sort of a berry shade.

Everything is in Japanese so that is a minus for me. I love to be able to read the labels. It's fun to know about a certain product!

The packaging is pretty standard: an angled plastic tip to be able to glide over your lips easily.

When I swatched it on my hand, it's pretty sheer and very thick. It only has a tiny amount of color so you can actually layer this on top of lipstick. It kind of reminds me of Lancome's Juicy Tubes, specially the consistency.

This is me wearing the lip gloss alone with no lipstick as a base. It's pretty sheer so it just gives a really nice tint on the lips.

I wanted to try applying lipstick under so this is me wearing it over Happy Skin's Shut Up and Kiss Me Lippie in First Kiss. It's lovely too because it enhances the shade of the lipstick even more.

ON MY FACE: Happy Skin Don't Get Mad Get Even Moisturizing Liquid Foundation, CanMake Marshmallow Finish Powder, ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder, K-Palette Lasting 2Way Eyebrow, Palgantong Blush in Baby Pink, Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black, Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Lippie in First Kiss

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:
PROS
  • High shine!
  • Has a lovely fruity fragrance.
  • Handy and compact.
  • Small packing allows you to finish one fast and you can try other shades.
  • Lasts for hours (unless you eat it! ha!)
  • Available in all Majolica Majorca counters all over the Metro.
  • Easily available.
  • Suitable for girls of all ages.
  • Available in a wide variety of shades.
  • Moisturizes the lips!

NEUTRAL
  • A little pricey for a small tube.
  • No English translations in packaging.

CONS
  • Has a very thick and sticky consistency, specially when you apply it on top of lipstick.

Will I re-purchase? Yes. But maybe try a different shade.
Will I recommend it? Yes.

MY OVERALL RATING: ★★★

  2. Thick and sticky glosses don't really bother me. So maybe I should give this a try. :)

  3. I have yet to try a majolica majorcas product but I have always been curious because the look and packaging of their cosmetics are really pretty. But you are right, their products are pricey. I might give this a try because I love the shade. It's pigmented even without lipstick.
