"Maybe She's Born With It... Nah, It's Definitely Maybelline!"

I got a loot bag from Maybelline yesterday (Don't you just love unexpected packages arriving at your doorstep?). They sent me a whole bunch of beautiful makeup but I decided to use these colors for my Valentine's dinner date last night with my hubby.

I have been so curious about their eyeshadows ever since they first came out but never got the chance to get one since I was already swimming with makeup (hubby thinks I should already have a sale... No Way! LOL).

 After a hot shower and have done my hair, I applied moisturizer on my face. Next comes the foundation.


I have been dying to try this foundation stick because it looks so convenient to use! The one thing that stopped me from getting one was that there are no testers so you can't choose which shade is closest to your tone. But Maybelline got my color right. This is Maybelline's Clear Smooth Clear Stick in Nude and it was the perfect shade for me.

I love how it easily glides on my face and I didn't even have to set it with powder. It doesn't really turn into powder, but it was matte enough to get away with skipping the face powder (which can make your makeup look too thick). Coverage is medium, and I like it that skin was still showing underneath the foundation.

I "drew" this on the key areas on my face and blended with my fingers. Forehead, cheeks, bridge of the nose, and chin. Blend with your fingers going towards the hair line.

After I have put on my eye brows, I washed my entire lid with the medium shade which is the second from the darkest. blended the edges with the third shadow, and highlighted my brow bones with the lightest shadow. I "lined" my eyes with the darkest shade and blended it very well with a cotton bud.

I love the consistency of this shadow. Pigment is not that intense which is perfect for everyday use, but you can still layer it on for a more intense color. Fall-out is minimal which is great! It's silky smooth, easy to blend, and definitely not chalky (getting all giddy just talking about it!).

Hyper sharp indeed! I enjoyed using this because the tip can really get in between the lashes. It gives a very precise line and the color intensity is a perfect black. Smudge proof and it doesn't "peel" after long wear. The thin body of the pen makes it easy to handle and easy to control.

This is how my eyes looked after I was done. I curled my lashes and applied mascara (using Maybelline's FALSIES Mascara, of course!). I also lined my waterlines with a black khol pencil to add more drama.


Now let's talk lips...

I have always loved Maybelline's lipstick line. They're creamy and glides on like balm. It's not drying so it's perfect for those gals who hate matte lipsticks. Not to mention, they have a ton of shades to choose from so go nuts! (I know I did!)

This is Garnet (#631) from their JEWELS lipstick collection. I know it looks scary dark on the tube but when you put it on, it actually looks like a deep berry which looked perfect with the eyeshadow that are shades of wine.

Don't you just love this shade? I didn't even put lipgloss on my lips, it has this certain glimmer to it like JEWELS indeed. They're not glitter exactly nor is it glossy. It's just, in plain words, sensual.

My husband who doesn't normally comment on my makeup told me how much he loved the makeup I had on last night (blushed big time!). How about you? What was your Valentine's makeup look look like?

    I use the BB cream too and I love it, especially on days when I feel like a zombie but I don't want to wear foundation! Only downside is it gives off a white cast when I take a photo with the flash on. :(

      I know what you mean... All BB creams tend to do that :( But the great thing is, BB creams give you beautiful glowing skin even without the powder! ♥
