I love lipsticks that stay. There are a lot of smudge proof lipsticks out there but there's no harm in getting extra insurance.
My friend Kat Dy, Managing Editor of BDJBox.com and owner of online brand Martina-Martina, gave me a a bottle of Lipcote to try and it was just amazing! Lasting lipstick power indeed!
Let me tell you a little something about Lipcoat. This brand is the original lipstick sealer and the secret to lasting, transfer and water-resistant lipstick!
Created in 1945, this has been used by some of the most famous lips in the world including Daisy Lowe, Rosie Huntington-Whitley and Rihanna. How's that for being famous?
When Kat handed me this product, I have already fallen in love with it (yes, a sucker for cute packaging, I know).
To celebrate their 50 years of making lipstick last, Lipcote came out with a lovely new packaging and logo, created by renowned illustrator Dora, whose feminine designs are inspired by Japanese prints, burlesque, and 50s tattoo design with a modern edge.
The bottle comes with a built in soft brush that you can easily brush on the lips. Light and watery, it dries quickly when applied and you don't have to worry about waiting a long time before you can apply lipgloss after it.
It has a satin-matte finish when applied, leaving a nice sheen to the lips. You can actually skip the lipgloss. But I love lipgloss so much that I will never skip putting some on. Except maybe if I am feeling matte that day.
Don't be alarmed when your lips sting when you first apply it, it quickly goes away after a few seconds. I also suggest buffing your lips first before applying lipstick so your lips won't flake when you put on the coat.
