Perfect Lips with Nature Republic

by - Monday, February 25, 2013

There's nothing less attractive than dry, flaky, lifeless lips. I make it a point to at least exfoliate my lips with a sugar lip scrub (home made) and slather on tons of petroleum jelly before going to bed. These tricks make your smackers the perfect canvas for lipsticks.

Making your own home made beauty remedies can be tiring (and 'fun-less'), or sometimes I go weeks without exfoliating my lips at least twice a week. It sooner becomes a chore... Until I recently discovered Nature Republic's lip care products.

Flaky lips is one of my pet peeves on makeup application. I think they look dirty, messy and unhealthy. The only way to achieve flake-free lips is by exfoliating, drinking lots of water, and keeping the skin nice and moisturized.

Nature Republic's lip scrub, tinted balm and concealer may be your solution to a perfect looking pout!

Nature Republic is made in Korea.

Follow these steps and how-tos:

Nature Republic Mango Bebe Lip Scrub, PhP 235
The Bebe scrub is loaded with lots of tiny round beads (particles that won't tear the thin skin on your lips). It smells of Mango and Vanilla! It's smells so delicious but fight the urge to eat it.

Apply a generous amount on your lips and with your middle finger or ring finger, "scrub" your lips until the product comes off (it will naturally disappear, although the beads might remain). Wash off the remaining product on your lips with water.

Nature Republic Berry Baby Lip Balm SPF 12 in Red Berry, PhP 295.00

Although the balm is tinted, it doesn't tint your lips that much. It gives your lips a healthy pinkish hue but it doesn't look like you have any makeup on. Apply a generous amount on your lips.

This will help lock in the moisture on your lips and will keep the top layer of your skin soft. I like using this on days I don't wear makeup. The tint makes your lips look so healthy! And did I mention how yummy it smells?

Nature Republic Mango Bebe Lip Concealer, PhP 235.00
On days that you do want to put lipstick on, apply a thin layer of this balmy lip concealer on your lips to make your lipstick color really stands out. Yes, normal concealer works too but the consistency can be too thick which results to cakey looking lips.

This concealer hides any lip discolorations therefore giving a blank canvas for your lipstick. The result is even, flawless, and vibrant.

I just love how hydrated my lips feel. I don't feel the urge to keep pressing my lips together or that annoying urge to lick my lips. My lips feel smooth and they look so plump. The most important thing is, your lips look healthy!

my lip concealer from Etude is not that moisturizing, I will check that Bebe concealer if I happen to pass by Nature Republic :)

Question, how often do you scrub your lips?

    1. I tried the one from Etude too, yah you're right, it's not as balmy as this one from Nature Republic :) I exfoliate my face and lips twice a week at the most ;) Tuesdays and Thursdays, and leave the weekend scrub and makeup-free so it gives my skin time to heal ♥
