One of my favorite lipstick formulas are ones that glide on like balm, sticks like matte lipstick, and has a soft creamy finish. I recently found that in Covergirl's Lip Perfection Lipsticks.

I have always believed that splurging on makeup base like powder or liquid foundation is a must, but you can scrimp on other products like blush, eyeshadow, and lipsticks. Not so cheap that you'll get allergies, but a reasonable price that work just as well as high-end ones. Although there is no problem in wanting to own luxury items, but there are now products available in the market that work just as well for women in a budget but still get top-notch quality.

I have heard of Ellana Cosmetics before but this is the first time I am trying any of their products. I am not so much keen on using mineral makeup, but when I do find ones that I really like, I keep using them.

I am a polish addict, but not as addicted like Pam of PolishPolice.com, but sadly, I am addicted and I always buy a new shade when I pass by the cosmetics department of Landmark or SM. Imagine my delight when I learned that Maybelline's Color Show Nail Polish has finally arrived in Manila! Yay!

There are also 2 products from the Color Show line: Lipsticks and Liners, but I will be reviewing those in a separate blog post to better review and blog about it. But for now? Let's talk polish! I haven't raved about nail polish in a while.

They have a lot of nail polish finishes to choose from! From semi-matte, to high gloss, to glitter, to cracked. Even foiled finish! I just hope Maybelline would bring all of those shades here though!

With this summer's heat, and the sun is out because clouds are scarce too, it is crucial that you get as much protection as you possibly can! Get SPF sun protection from your cosmetics, so I am using products with SPF as much as possible.

I have been using Shiseido's UV Protective Liquid foundation for about a month now because I am so scared of freckles. Before I switched, I have new ones appear under my eyes actually after shooting outdoors for a day last month. I noticed it when I took photos of myself for my blog and that's why I started using foundation with sun protection.

Who doesn't love eyeliners? I think they can make or break any makeup look. Eyeliners are uber fun to play around with, but one should be very careful on how to use them. Too much can make you look too heavily made up, but just the right amount can make your eyes look wide awake. Well that, and a lot of mascara.

I am always on the lookout for good eyeliners that stay put. But at this day and age, I don't think eyeliners that smudge exist anymore but it's always best to test them first.

If there's anything I am addicted to aside from makeup, books, and writing, it would be fragrances. You can tell a lot about a woman or a man with their choice of fragrance. I currently have about 20 different fragrances and I wear each one not by rotation but according to my mood. If I were asked to choose one item to wear and one thing only, it would be fragrance and nothing else. No one will notice you have no clothes on if you smell fabulous. LOL

In other words, fragrance for men or women is the icing on the cake. It is your signature, it tells who you are! So never leave home without it!

If you have been following my blog, then you would know how stubborn my eye lashes can be. They curl easily, specially with a Shu Uemura eyelash curler, but as soon as I put mascara that isn't Maybelline, they get weighed down and the curl doesn't hold. Duh!

So one of the deciding factors for me on what makes a good mascara is if it holds curl well. I did a little Canmake haul three months ago (you can find that post HERE by the way) and in that haul was this new mascara. The beauty girl at Canmake Somera told me that it's curling and volumizing which intrigued me. Plus, the fact that it was formulated and made in Japan, one would think that it's made specially for Asian lashes.
