What do you do with your sample products?

#giveaways

I have been getting a few emails regarding this topic: "What do you do with sample products that you receive?"

Well, first of all, I love beauty products so I will take what I can get. I love trying new products and I actually wish more brands would give these out so you can always try them before you buy. And to answer your question, I keep all of them and put them in travel cosmetics cases like these.

Find out what I do with them after the break!

I most specially like samples that come in miniaturized bottles instead of sachets for shampoos, conditioners and body washes. Specially that small hairspray! Isn't that the cutest thing?

So after I put them in travel cases like these, I store them in my closet away from direct sunlight and just take them when I travel. I am 34 years old but I still do a lot of sleepovers at my sister's house or my mom's house when hubby is away on business. I also still have sleepovers with my cousin!
I just collect them and keep them handy so when I pack for a trip, I just grab them and pack them in my suit case. So I don't have to worry about forgetting something. I am not really that sensitive when it comes to skin care so I am very lucky that I can switch from one brand to another. If you have a much more sensitive skin than mine, then just choose the samples that you can take with you when you travel.

Some people throw out sample sizes or give them away thinking that they won't be able to use them or assess a product properly because of the small quantity of product that is in the container, but for me, it's the most convenient for travelling! Plus, these small bottles and sachets have at least 3 uses so that's good enough.

Most of my relatives ask me too what I have in my bag that they can try -they ask for products when they forgot to bring something. I have plenty to go around!
I personally do not like transferring products in travel atomizers and bottles because these change the composition of the products because of how the product reacts to the plastic containers. These products spend three months doing stability tests with their containers that's why they have a longer shelf life. Transferring them to travel kits will shorten the shelf life and you end up wasting more.

Plus, it's messy!
With the smaller sample bottles that I receive, I keep them all together in a smaller travel case. I have everything in this case! From toners, to serums, to cleansing oils, makeup, mascaras, etc...
I even keep all my fragrance samples (I have about a dozen!) so it's like taking with me dozens of fragrances with me when I travel! How's that for convenience?
With sachets, I do the same thing. I keep everything in a case so that I can just take everything with me. When the cases get too full and may be too heavy to bring for travel, I just choose which ones to bring for my trips. Lately, I haven't really been away from home for more than a week so I can take everything with me.

When it's time for me to go home and a sachet still has some product in it, I do not keep it, I just toss them out. I make it a point to use up everything though. One sachet is good for about 3 uses so it goes a long way.
That's why I am so loyal with SampleRoom, which is a sampling site, and beauty sample boxes like BDJ Box and Glamourbox because they have so much sample sizes that you can when you travel! I don't like leaving without skin care and my usual hair products so I love taking samples with me!

So this month, I am giving away a Clinique Sample Box -Love for Samples! This is to encourage more people not to throw away samples, and use them for travel! It beats having to transfer everything in bottles and risk the chance of spoiling the products.
I am giving away this awesome skin care travel set! Aren't they just cute? I love Clinique and this box contains the entire skin care that will last you about a week!

  3. I usually keep them in my makeup drawer and then use them up one by one. I am also not sensitive to skin care so I get to try different brands without having issues. :)

  6. I always separate my samples, sachets and sampler bottles/tubes. Sometimes I keep it to make sure I have samples or small bottles for a trip. So I do not bother to bring my huge kikay kit. While some samples that I have, I let my mother or sister use it, since some samples are not for my skin type. Whenever I love those samples I received, I take note of that product and make it to my TO-BUY-LIST or WISH-LIST.

  9. I also keep the samples for travel, but I don't travel or go overnight all that often. That's why they tend to pile up! I never throw anything away, though. There are times that I'd use samples at home just to keep my "stock" fresh. Haha. And in fairness, the whole generosity of brands with samples really works. It's happened on several occasions that I've gone back to the store to purchase a full-sized version because I liked using the samples at home. Testers are nice, but it's different to be able to try a product out for a week or more.

  10. I also like to keep samples and make it a point to use them up! Of course I don't get as much as you do, but with SampleRoom, BDJ, and Glamourbox there's plenty that find their way to my stash! I also got a ton of samples when I travelled to Korea and went a little shop crazy at Missha, Nature Republic, and Face Shop. They really load your bag up with samples whenever you buy something. I've found some pretty great stuff through samples...
