My thoughts on Pixy's Colors of Delight Lipsticks

#liptalktuesdays

I received these lippies as part of the Pixy BDJ Box this April! The first I am going to review for you from Pixy Cosmetics. If you don't know already, I am obsessed with lipsticks because there are so much that can match my many moods. I love rotating them, and I don't have a preference too on the finish. I use them all! Whether creamy, matte, glossy, frosted or satin, I love them all!

The first thing I would like to comment on is the packaging. Don't get me wrong, I love professional looking makeup for pro use, like MAC or Bobbi Brown, but I put makeup on clients everyday for the past 10 years so I am always looking for cutesy, dainty, and girly packaging because it's refreshing to the eyes for me.

I am so excited I can hardly sit still! I could barely contain myself when I was shooting these products. Hahaha! Ok, so let's talk packaging. It's dainty and it's pink, I love it!

It has some scalloping going on there, although when you first look at it it looks a little bit like a toy. Something that won't really work, you know what I mean? It's looks a little bit too plastic-y. Although the packaging is made from sturdy, and top of the line materials.

Pixy is an Indonesian brand, but made from Japanese quality materials. Products that were developed to cater specially for Asian skin! Formulated to enhance the natural beauty that is truly Asian.

The shades look dark on the tube, but I guarantee that these shades are not dark. The shades are chic overload!

I will start with the Satin finish lipstick. I am loving the name of the shade of the lippie too! Puppy Love, isn't that just too cute?

This packaging kind of reminds me of Etude, I don't know why? It's probably because of the girly packaging.

Puppy Love is a delicate pink shade that is best worn by fair-skinned women. Morenas would have to try them on themselves at the counter to see if this would suit them. You can use this lipstick to mute other lipstick that you may have at home.

As you can see, the finish is a cream-y finish that has a slight "gloss" to it. It's creamy and smooth.

I love how "angelic" this lipstick makes me look! It has a slight purple undertone too, making it look a little mauve.

And now we move on to the next finish which is the semi-matte finish. The name of the shade of this lipstick is Red Chili. When I saw the name of this lipstick shade, I was thinking more of a red-orange lipstick...

Instead, the shade is a red-berry shade that is more pink than it is red. It has a blue undertone that gives the lipstick a bluish/berry hue.

This supposed semi-matte lipstick still has a little bit of shine to it. It's not as shiny as the satin finish, but it still reflects light. If you would like this lippie to be a little bit more matte, you can blot it several times to give a more matte finish.

I love the shade of this lipstick because red lippies are my thang. I love bold lip colors that make a statement so I am really loving the shade of this! The name Red Chili though doesn't match the color of the lipstick.

And now, for the matte lippie, this is Peach Delicacy. I didn't know what shade to expect because on the tube it's different, but when you swatch it, it's a different shade.

To be completely honest, I was expecting a MAC matte lipstick kind of finish, but when I swatched and used this lipstick, it's as matte as I wanted it to be, but I guess that's also a good thing.

I don't have this shade yet so I just love how the shade turned out! You can see on the photo that the lipstick is not as matte or dry as other matte lipsticks.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:
Length of usage before review: 1 week.

PROS
  • All lipsticks are moisturizing!
  • Will not over-dry the lips.
  • All are highly pigmented.
  • Pleasant floral fruity smell.
  • Smooth texture, glides on like balm.
  • Hydrates the lips, making you NOT want to lick your lips all the time.
  • Loaded with Vitamin E.
  • Enriched with Sweet Almond Oil
  • Glides on like balm.
  • Buildable color.
  • Formulated to withstand hot humid countries, as well as extreme cold.
  • Won't chap your lips.
  • Will sooth dry, flaky, chapped lips.
  • All finishes do not bleed.
  • Sturdy packaging. Not flimsy!
  • Wide range of shades. Plenty to choose from.
  • Made from top of the line ingredients.
  • Matte lipstick won't make your lips feel/look dry.
  • Affordable.

NEUTRAL
  • Matte lipstick is not really matte.
  • Available online only, for now. So you can't really try them on.

CONS
  • Non transfer-proof.
  • All finishes are not that long-lasting, but lasts for about 3-4 hours without retouch.
