Kissable Lips with Clarins' Replenishing Lip Balm

by - Thursday, August 22, 2013

My friend gave me a whole bunch of Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm testers because she knows I am addicted to them. Well, with a .10oz tester tube, I can literally finish 1 tube a week. That is, if I apply it every night.

These little sample tubes come in the dob kit that the PAL give you in First Class. No, I've never travelled first class before but my bestfriend's mom gave me a bunch and I have a whole lot to last me a while. Lucky girl! LOL

The real tube looks like this:

Of course, aside from it being bigger, it has an easy slanted applicator that you can apply directly from the tube, but I do prefer the sample tube with an applicator that looks like this:

I use my middle or ring finger to apply some product on my lips for 2 reasons (make sure your hands are clean!): 1, I have easier control, and 2, it's more hygienic that way. You preserve the product by not contaminating the product with your own saliva (eeew!) yes, think of it as avoiding to double dip!

With regards to how much you put, you really need just a tiny tiny amount of product to cover your lips. Remember, start with as little product as possible, and just add if you need more. The less product you apply, the better it gets absorbed. If you apply too much, most of it will just rub off and go to waste. OUCH.

You don't need to slather on a whole lot. Its effects are just the same whether you apply the whole tube or just using a pin drop!

I love applying the replenishing balm at night before going to bed. I gently exfoliate my lips to rid of dead dry skin and apply this product. When I wake up, my lips are lipstick ready!

OVERALL RATING: 5/5
Fragrance: 5/5
Packaging: 4/5
Effectiveness: 5/5
Value for Money: 5/5

  2. Wow this is a good product Ms. Sabs! I love lip balms too. How can you compare this to Carmex? I've been using the latter for months already however, I still want to venture to other lip products too. What can you recommend Ms. Sabs? (please exempt this one coz I can't afford it honestly ahahha)

    1. Carmex is a really good brand and it really heals chapped lips :) But to be perfectly honest, petroleum jelly works just as well, sometimes even better! After you exfoliate your lips before bed time, apply a generous amount of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly (or other brands is you prefer), and it really works wonders! ♥ it's cheap and it's available anywhere ♥ You can use petroleum jelly on the occasional rough dry spots on the skin too :)

    2. I've read a lot of neg. reviews about petroleum jelly being applied on lips kase in the first place, it's 'petroleum' and it should'nt be applied there. Is it really safe, Ms. Sabs? I do exfoliate my lips once/twice a week. Ok lang pala if everyday :)

    3. I've never heard of Petroleum Jelly being bad for you until now :) I think the only risk would be having to depend too much on it because it really makes your skin so moist that your lips may get used to that level of moisture. In fact, lip glosses have more risk than petroleum jelly because #1, the higher the shine, the higher your risk of burning your lips because it reflects too much light. #2, it has artificial flavors, fragrances, and colors :) I have been using petroleum jelly for year and is a staple in my makeup kit and my medicine cabinet at home ♥

    5. No worries! I love answering your questions :) I think what people fear most is the word PETROLEUM. Lol Thank you so much for your questions :)

  3. I love this! I also had some samples from my dads travels! I love the scent too, and its so moisturising.

I cut it open after, and got a whole two weeks worth of use still! Its amazing how much product gets left behind and thrown out, when you think its "finished"
