I have always been in love with red lipstick. I think it is the single color in the lipstick world that can dress up any outfit even if you are naked.

I recently received a lipstick from Avon (way before the launch of their new makeup line). I have had the lipstick ready in my "to be reviewed" drawer and I finally got  to it.

Why I waited this long to review it is beyond me. This has got to be one of the best red lippies I have ever gotten my hands on (or lips).


Housed in a classy and chic black plastic container, looking at the product, the red pigment didn't look that "red". Me, I like my red lipsticks to shout "RED!" when I wear them. I just personally prefer it that way. And if that's not eough, I even top it off with high shine red lip gloss. Attention-grabber alert!


When swatched on my hand, the shade is brighter on skin than on the tube. I got excited seeing that the shade is actually brighter than it looks!


This is how the lipstick is on my lips! Don't  you just love it? I applied no gloss too! It's that shiny! Yay! I love how sultry and seductive it is. I can't wait to wear this out!

One of the best things about red lipsicks is that they make your teeth appear whiter than they actually are. They also brighten the complexion and emphasize your hair color!


So here are my thoughts:

It's very creamy and it glides on smoothly like lip balm. It's highly pigmented and it's very moisturizing! Although it's not smudge proof, you have to work on making it last the whole day. After applying it, I was actually very conscious that I might smudge it or possibly end up on my teeth! The upside? No need for lip gloss!

It's very silky and "slippery"? I don't know how else to describe it! It feels wet on the lips which is what I like too because it doesn't feel awkward, tight and very dry!

If you would like to wear lipsticks this bright, you have to work on making it last the whole day so you won't have to keep retouching it! So now you have the perfect lipstick, let's work on how to make it last!
