Toning Your Skin with Malunggay

by - Monday, August 19, 2013

Ok herbal cosmetic lovers! Are you ready for Moringa-O's Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner?

Moringa-O Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner 100ml (PhP 89.75)
Let me first tell you about the benefits of Malunggay. So, the Malunggay, often referred to as "The Miracle Vegetable". Here's a good read from www.malunggayherbtea.com:

"Malunggay leaves are an excellent source of vitamin A and B, and minerals such as calcium and iron. It is even an excellent source of protein, being higher than the amino acid pattern of Food and Agriculture Organization-reference protein, yet contains very low fat and carbohydrates. The leaves are incomparable as a source of the sulfur-containing amino acids methionine and cystine, often the natural minerals humans lack.

Due to its high vitamins A, C, and E, which are very potent antioxidants, malunggay is a very good quencher of unstable free radicals that can react with and damage molecules that cause aging. Antioxidants reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They also prevent the onset of various chronic diseases like arthritis, cancer, and heart and kidney diseases."

The label basically explains it all. Yes, Olive Oil is great for moisturizing the skin too! So imagine the benefits when two of natures great ingredients are combined!

I not even going to pretend that I know everything there is to know about eading labels but basically I just Google ingredients I am not familiar with and then weigh it from there.

So, the ultimate test! I used this on myself for 3 days. Once in the morning before moisturizing, and once again at night after cleansing my skin.

The truth is, I couldn't use it longer than 3 days because I couldn't stand the strong fragrance. I am impressed with how great it cleanses and tones the skin (my pores actually became less obxious!) with just a little product, but I just found the product too fragrant. It lingers for a while too that's why I didn't use it for too long.

Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while would know that I really don't like strong smelling cosmetics. The product smells of sweet green tea. Like those handwashes or massage oils that smell too fragrant? Like that.

If smell is something that doesn't bother you easily, then I would recommend this toner! It really cleanses well, leaving your skin fresh and feeling clean.

Have you tried this toner? What do/did you think of it? Share with me!

  1. That is such a shame about the smell! I hate when products have a really strong scent - it makes me not want to use them!

  2. I only tried their lotion that I got from SR. Scents from these kinds of products won't really bother me at all, so I guess I will give it a try. Plus the malunggay benefits and affordable price. Large pores has also been a problem for me and good to know that it minimizes pores! Thanks for sharing! :)

    1. I know what you mean about products having unpleasant smells. Which is a shame because sometimes the product is so good, the fragrance is just eek. In all fairness to this toner though, I like the smell, it's just waaaaay too strong! Hahaha! Thanks for dropping by!

  7. I'm not a fan of the scent of this one either but this one really helped my skin so I just learned how to ignore it. I have a dry skin so this toner is not that harsh and really moisturizes my skin. :)

  11. I am curios about this product! well i am using pure extract of malunggay (dinudokdok ko yong leaves niya hanggang lumabas yung katas niya) then i put it on my face. After it dries I apply kalamansi extract! After 3 days of using it my mole got lost and my skin lightens too. It got fresher! And i'm hoping that my warts will get rid of it! Just sharing!
