Lancome Long Lasting Softening Concealer

by - Tuesday, May 07, 2013

I don't concealer on myself because I don't think I needed it. But lately, I have been sleeping late and have been crazy busy with shoots that I only get a maximum of 5 hours of sleep which have turned into nightmare-ish baggies. I am very lucky that I do not have horror-esque dark circles, but my eyes do get super puffy at times and tired-ness can look very obvious.

Most cosmetic products in the market today make my eyes watery. That just means that my eyes can't take the active "fumes" that the products release when in contact with my skin so most often than not, I avoid putting anything on my under eyes just to be sure my eyes won't water. But this product? No watery eyes or itching whatsoever.

So today let me show you 2 of Lancome's Long-Lasting Softening Concealer that I love using either on myself and on my clients: Beige Pastel and Beige Sable.

Both concealers are yellow based, but 02 Beige Sable has a bit more orange/peach undertone to it that is great for purplish baggies. It not just conceals the dark circles, but it neutralizes it so it doesn't look gray when topped with a concealer.

Consistency is very creamy that literally just a pin-drop goes a very long way.

Check out my under eye area after only 4 hours of sleep. They are more puffy than in photos so don't be deceived. I want to achieve a look that will make it seem like I had 10 hours of well-rested sleep specially when I have clients to meet. That's when the 01 Beige Pastel comes in.

As you can see, It immediately brightened up my eyes and gave my eye a lift. I applied the concealer with a concealer brush starting with as little product as possible to avoid caking when set with loose powder. I then patted the area with my ring finger to let it "melt" more into the skin giving it a very natural finish.

One of the best things I like about this concealer is that it doesn't dry velvety or powdery. It stays creamy but it's not oily either. It's very easy to set with loose powder and it doesn't cake after a while. Just make sure that when you set it, you also apply loose powder as thin as you can.

If you are in the market for a good concealer that will give you a natural finish, I hope this post will help you. They have more shades to choose from so depending on you would want your concealer to do, choose the right shade: To conceal dark circles, choose a shade that has a peach/orange undertone, use yellow concealers to brighten your under eye area. Skip the concealer if your good ol' foundation will do the job! Remember, less is always more!

  1. Just what I needed! I've been having more puffiness under my eyes than usual and I'm not sure if it's because of stress or just the food that I eat.

What about just covering up the shadow of the bag instead of the whole eyebag (luggage pa nga minsan)? I saw a youtube video about it but haven't tried it on myself yet. Your thoughts?

    Thanks in advance, Sabs!

    1. Hi Abi! If your eyes are unusually puffy or never has it been puffy but current;y experiencing puffy eyes, then you're eating too much salty food or sweets :) Salt and sugar make us retain water, hence, the puffy eyes. You can apply cold compress (ice pack) on your face to reduce the puffiness for about 15 minutes before putting on your makeup. Yes, I would give the same advice on how to conceal your baggies the same way, conceal only the deep parts of your eye bags to "push" this area forward. If you apply concealer on the entire under eye area, the more it will look puffy because you are basically highlighting this area pushing it out more :) Let me know how this turns out! Thanks for dropping by! HUGS! ♥
