Nature Republic Foot Therapy: Peeling Foot Mask (Product Review and Giveaway!)

by - Sunday, May 12, 2013

WARNING: Ok, there are going to be graphic photos of my feet in this post so brace yourselves!

LOL. I have been having trouble with my foot calluses ever since and it's becoming pretty annoying. The only way to make it look smooth is by getting a food scrub at nail salons but it's getting quite expensive, PLUS, they make the skin on my heels and the bottom skin of my entire foot very rough, thicker and tougher. It seems that the more often I go for a foot spa, the tougher the skin gets.

My sister gave me these Foot Therapy Peeling Foot Mask from Nature Republic all the way from Korea, but it's only today that I get to try and review 'em!

I love Nature Republic's packaging, always have. Their look is very fresh and spa-ish, if that makes any sense.

I started writing this blog (and took photos) on May 6, 2013. According to the instructions (finally! Korean products with English text!), that after using this sock, it would take 4 to 7 days before the skin and calluses start to peel. Here goes nothin'!

Now this is where is gets ugly. I have calluses in the weirdest places. Ok, I get the one on my toe but I don't get the callus on the sides of my feet. I think it's because of my favorite flats? Not sure. I've tried scrubbing and whitening products but nothing seem to work.

I won't even show photos of the bottoms of my feet because they look 10 times uglier and extremely cracked. So just take my word for it.

Come on Nature Republic! You're my only hope! Now, when you open the packaging, there will be 2 very durable plastic socks that will be your best friend for the next 60 minutes. The instructions say that you should leave it on for 60-90 minutes, so I left it on for 90 minutes to get the maximum effect.

Cut the top part of the sock where it says "CUT HERE", just make sure that you cut it upright because there are "juices" inside and they might spill!

Where the socks like you would regular socks but do it carefully so you won't spill the "juices", I like that word... Juices. Hahaha!

The opening will be a little loose so fold and tape it secure so it won't move around a lot and you will trap the product and the "heat" inside the sock. I know I said they're durable but try not to walk around a lot.

Now sit tight and just wait. Go read a book or watch TV coz it will take about 90 minutes.

90 minutes later...

I washed my feet with luke warm water. My feet feels minty long after I have washed my feet. You know that feeling when you remove nail polish with acetone? That's kinda how it feels like but without the burning, drying sensation. Just very very minty.

So now for the wait... I'll be back after a few days and see the progress of the peeling.

6 days later...
I noticed that the bottom of my foot became extremely dry on the 4th and 5th day. By day 6, my feet were peeling like crazy! Every night for the past 6 days (up to present) I kept my feet moisturized with Petroleum Jelly and wore socks to trap in the moisture. The new skin beneath the dead, dry skin was BABY SMOOTH!

Just a reminder though: Experiences may vary with each user.

LEFT FOOT
Yes, I have a mole in my foot, get over it. LOL

LEFT FOOT

RIGHT FOOT
The skin under the old skin feels so soft and smooth. The cracks on my heels and the pad of my feet disappeared as well. No more calluses for this girl! They just peeled away naturally. I am not sure how long the peeling will take but I will keep my feet soaked in petroleum jelly and wear socks before going to bed or when I am just at home to keep the new skin protected.

It's very tempting to peel the skin off forcefully like you would when you get a really bad sunburn. But don't, just let the old skin fall off naturally.

I would definitely repurchase this peeling product when it becomes available in Manila. I asked last Saturday when I was at Landmark, and they told me this is currently out of stock.

So I am giving away 1 of my foot peeling masks to 1 lucky reader so you too can experience this wonderful product! Just simply follow these guidelines, terms and conditions and you can be one of the lucky winners!

    1. Unfortunately yes, but not for a very long time if you keep it maintained :) My baby smooth feet lasted about 6 months, but I slept with socks on but not before applying lots of petroleum jelly on my feet, wearing cotton slippers, and avoiding foot spas and filing the heels! :)
