Who can forget Nicole Kidman's makeup disaster on the red carpet that went viral a few days after the event?

One of my favorite looks for everyday is looking fresh and sweet. I love using colors like bright pink, corals, and pinkish-nudes. I think they’re very feminine and the shades really brighten up the entire face.

Collie Collection sent me a whole lotta loot to try from their Mineral Cosmetics line. It’s actually heaven in a small little black paper bag.

I was going to meet 3 brides and today was the day I was going to try my new makeup! I was very excited!

After I cleansed and moisturized my face, I applied Colour Collection’s CoQ10 Age Defying BB Cream on my cheeks, forehead, chin and nose by dotting a pea-sized amount of the product. Spread towards your hairline.

They have 2 shades of pressed powder, Light and Natural. They are both yellow-based and the shade isn’t really that far away from each other. I went for the Natural shade. Mineral makeup tend to be thick specially powders so I used a fluffy brush to apply the powder. The result is just flawless and natural-looking! It doesn’t look cakey or thick!

After I did my brows, by using Colour Collection’s Eyebrow Pencil by the way (I got this weeks ago), I applied CC’s Mineral Blush-on Duo. I don’t usually recommend applying blush with the small blush brushes that come with blushes but I wanted to give this one a try. In spite of its size, it’s easy to control making blending effortless. I lie the fact that the hair of the tiny brush doesn’t easily come off leaving your face with strands of synthetic hair, this one however, has soft natural hair.

After softening my lips with petroleum jelly, I blotted excess jelly from my lips and smoothed on CC’s Mineral Lipstick in Satin Shell. They sent me 5 shades but I already had 3 of them so I decided to give the ones I don’t have a try.

From what I wrote in my previous posts about CC’s mineral cosmetics’ lipsticks, I mentioned that I just adore how their lipsticks smell. It smells just like MAC’s lipsticks and has amazing color! It glides on easily being creamy lipstick and all, but with these lipsticks, you won’t even need lipgloss because the color is just divine. Its color staying power is also amazing! If you blot and reapply, the longer the color stays on!

For all you other makeup enthusiasts out there, Colour Collection takes the cake! I would definitely recommend this brand to women who want affordable yet high quality makeup products!

Changing your daytime look at the office can take as fast as 3-5 minutes!

After work, freshen up your makeup by spraying your face lightly with cool water from an atomizer. Let dry and blot excess with a tissue. Then press blotting paper on your face to blot oil (there are a lot of brands out there, so take your pick), dab and don’t rub or wipe. You will just be wiping off makeup forcing you to reapply your entire makeup.

Blend a dark gray or black eyeshadow to the outer corner of your eyes using a blending brush working your way towards the center. Blend the center of your eyeshadow with your ring finger until they are very well blended together.

Sweep a little dark bronzer on your cheekbones to add color to your cheeks.

Apply your favorite night lip color. I love Colour Collection’s Mineral Cosmetics in Smooth Wine (photographed above P199), it’s just like MAC’s Viva Glam I lipstick except it’s creamy and not very matte, not to mention, it’s 1/5 of the price! Matte lipsticks can be drying specially I your lips chap a lot. Colour Collection Lipsticks are my current fave!

Pat blotting powder on your nose like Elianto’s Blotting Powder to mattify your face to finish.

Getting bored with your everyday makeup look? Explore and experiment with colored liners!

Colored liners are a fun way to brighten up your look! If you feel that black liners make you look “too dressy”, skip the blacks and browns and use colored ones.

My latest discovery, Nichido’s Color Intense Eyepencil in Deep Plum (which I used today when i went to do a shoot and on the photo) and Vivid Turquoise (P80.00).

Colored eyeliners (even black) can make your eye color lighter. My eyes are usually dark brown but applying liners make make my eyes look lighter and brighter. Well that, and a lot of mascara.

If you have natural colored eyes like green, blue, or gray, avoid matching liners as your eye color, this will wash your eye color out. Instead, use contrasting colors to make them pop out!

Just line your lash lines with the colored liner and use the sponge tip applicator to smudge the edges to avoid the obviously drawn line look. I smudged a little eyeshadow over the liner the same color as the pencil to make it softer, and not to mention, make it last longer.

Skip the black eye liner to avoid looking too made up. You can apply your black liquid liner or pencil at night if you plan to go out after work.

I was really surprised that Nichido came up with a pencil that is full of color and that glides on easily like kohl. Local brands are starting to get competitive with their products so no need to spend thousands on makeup anymore.

The liner stayed on the whole day, fading a little bit after about 7 hours of wear. Just before going out to dinner, I just smudged the same shadow I used that morning to revive the liner and it worked. No need to re-apply your liner! And, it’s smudge proof too!

I have yet to try other brands that are budget friendly for you makeup addicts out there. I just have to find the good ones worth buying and using.

ELF’s colored pencil didn’t really impress me. The pencil is too hard to blend and it hurts my eyes when I apply it because you have to run the pencil over your lash line several times to get the maximum color effect that you want. Only advantage? Is that its cover comes with a pencil sharpener.

Nichido has more colors. I think they have green which can look absolutely divine with that pastel coral lipstick I’m sure you already have!

After my appointments today with clients for their trial sessions, I asked my sister to come over and have a shoot at my little studio at home. Here's is the outcome of our shoot today:

I asked my cousins, sisters China and Cristalle, to come to my condo for a some-what photoshoot. A little bit of amateur stuff since my schedule was free in the afternoon. I was in the mood to do a little fashion/beauty makeup, so I asked them for a peg how they want to look.

I did the makeup of the Alog family today for a wedding. The mom of the groom, the sister-in-law (Stacey), and the flower girl (Reese). They were all so very lovely and had nice skin so I didn't have to use a whole lot of makeup on them. Tita and Stacey opted for airbrush. Of course, baby girl Reese didn't need to be airbrushed so a hypo-allergenic, baby-friendly tinted moisturizer was all she needed for coverage.

Stacey just gave birth so she a little bit of dry spots around her face. Going for a dewy look was the way to go for her to make her skin look plump and moist.

I took some pics, but unfortunately I am not happy with the lighting when I took them. That's why I had to brighten up the picture the best way I can just so I can show you the makeup.

One of my best friends from grade school Ina Enverga attended one of our friend's wedding last year, Nicole's wedding... I only found pictures now! Hahaha!

I've always know Ina to keep her makeup simple. I wanted her to look just as flawless as she really is, and I didn't want to put a whole lot of product on her face so I only spot concealed, and used powder foundation. I applied a gel blush on the temples of her cheeks in a dark peach color and used a sheer apricot blush on her apples to make it "pop", then I contoured her cheekbones using a bronzer w/ shimmer. I emphasized her eyebrows and lashes as focal point.

The lips was the easiest to do. I have always loved Ina's full, Angelina Jolie-type lips so I only outlined it with a pencil that is a half-shade darker than her natural lip line, and filled the inner part with a lighter shade to make it look more pouty. Then I glossed it to the max to finish! I love this girl, even without a whole lot of product on her face, she still looks gorgeous!! I can't wait to do her makeup again when she comes home from Boston in December!

In a recent trip to New Jersey/NYC last October (hence the absence in posting the entire month), there was this one day when my sister, my cousin China, and I wanted to dress up when we went to the city. They requested I did their eye makeup so we would all look fab and blend in in the city. Hehehe...

All I had was my personal makeup kit which contained a face powder, 2 sets of quad shadows, a couple of lipsticks, mascara, black liquid liner and my 5pc SUESH brush set. I didn't have an eyeliner pencil so I had to use China's.

For a quick fab heavy smokey eye (like on China -girl on right), draq a very thick line of pencil eyeliner from lash line to crease, and blend with black or dark grey shadow. Make sure that you blend real well and get rid of harsh lines. Then smooth the edges with a highlighter like a light silver or shimmery bone so that the edges will be completely smoothed out.

On my sister Margs, she had nice deep-set eyes so I didn't want to do the heavy smokey eye. Instead, I just pencil lined her eye and blended the edges with a cotton swab. Just blend, blend, blend! Then after, trace it with eyeshadow the same thickness as your pencil so that it will set.


If you want an even heavier look like mine, just draw a very thick line of pencil liner (thicker than China's) and don't blend it! Just dab eyeshadow over your pencil lines so it wouldn't budge or run.

It only took me about 5 minutes to do both their eyes (including mine), but if you are not used to wearing makeup don't get frustrated when you take longer. Just practice and you'll be doing your smokey eye like a pro in no time!

Black/dark grey eyeshadow

Spring/Summer is actually my favorite collection of the year. Each year, I look forward to the collection that different brands come up with... Well, that and the winter collection. But since we don't have seasons, we can get away with wearing pastels all year round --make that, Spring/Summer all year round.

This is actually my interpretation of Lancôme's Reveries de Charme eye color quad. I love its texture because you can use it both wet & dry. I love love love it! I used the pastel green, yellow, and pink altogether, blended them, and made the pastel blue stand out by using it as an eyeliner.

Use your blushes in the same family. Blue tones for blue tones, and red tones for red tones... You get the idea.

The most important thing is having fun! That's the beauty of makeup, you can wash it off when you don't like the outcome :)

You do not have to wear all the colors all at once, you can use them one at a time by just washing your entire lid with the color, or 2 colors by blending them well together so there are no visible lines. If you would like to make your eye makeup adhere to your skin more, I would use cream shadows. They are of a slightly thicker blend; not thick though. I think they are "sturdier" and will last longer than the powder kinds that tend to fade easily.

Also try metallic shades of eyeliner in a pencil form. Again they are "thicker" and last longer. They also blends incredibly well and doesn't smudge like black. Darker shades of course will always show smudges more plainly. A quick fix up for smudges is take a little water or baby oil on a q-tip and lightly dab under eye. Don't pull at the skin under your eye, however, just dab in an inward stroking motion.

If you are not into the whole metallic thing, do the trick I do so that makeup stays on til you remove it! :)






Firstly, when I apply foundtion, I do not include the lids. What I do is that I apply a thin layer of Lancôme's Effacernes Longue Tenue on the lids. This is a concealer that has a smooth matte finish, and is waterproof. Then I dust it with loose powder until my finger glides. If your finger stops when you run your finger through it, you haven't used enough powder.










Next, I apply a base cream shadow all over the lid until my brow bones. I am loving MAC's Bare Canvas Paint. This product comes in a tube just like oil paints! But this one is a high tech, high performance eye shadow product which goes on creamy; dries to a powdery finish. I let it set for a few minutes then I start applying the eye makeup :)
