Guess what finally made it to our shores? Jo Malone! It's finally happening Jo Malone fans and their first store is finally opening its doors to the public on October 10, 2015.

Last June, I attended the sort-of launch of the brand but their stores are still opening in October. I was so honored to have been invited to the launch since only a handful and select group of bloggers and media were invited to attend the preview.

One of the best things about being a blogger, is getting to try everything from the brand privately without you having to hog the counters at the store. LOL (who here can relate?) I love taking my time when trying on products so I really don't like it when sales people hound me. Ok, that just sounded a bit bratty.

More after the break!

Here's some background info on the brand.

To bring the story to life, the Jo Malone™ Creative Studio works in close collaboration with internationally renowned Master Perfumers, revered for their immense knowledge and imagination, bringing a powerful house identity to each scent they create.

Made in England from the finest ingredients, these fragrances are composed to ensure their true beauty shines through. Ingredients are used in unusual and intricate combinations, blending technical innovation and traditional methods in a modern way. Each scent brings its own character to the broad spectrum of fragrances. Allowing you to wear them alone or layered to express your own
individuality through Fragrance Combining™.

Let me tell you about Fragrance Combining a little bit later. At the event, we were given the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a hand massage using their body butter and we get to choose which fragrance we want to use too! There was a lot of layering going on so the fragrance really lingered on my skin long after I got home!
By the way, it was my first even since giving birth, Henri being only 2 months old, I was sort-of still on a twilight zone kind of phase so that day was a bit of a blur. I'm sure you moms out there know what I'm talking about. It did feel so good to finally be out of the house.

I really took my time sampling and sniffing all of their variants but I couldn't get passed 8 kinds because I was starting to get a headache. Hahaha! But seriously, from the eight that I smelled, I already have a handful of favorites in my must-have list.

Lime, Basil and Mandarin was their very first fragrance and it's definitely a favorite among many. I for one uses it on days I want to smell nice but other EDPs are too strong for me. Jo Malone's use of unexpected ingredients was considered pioneering in the world of perfumery. That's what makes Jo Malone so popular and special.

The entire venue was lit by using Jo Malone scented candles that's why it smelled so darn good in the venue. It was so posh using these luxurious candles as centerpieces, I was really hoping we could take them home too.

The Jo Malone candle is wonderfully luxurious and perfectly balanced, largely because of the careful craftsmanship and immense patience that goes into creating it. The process starts with measuring the fine fragrance oils to be blended into slowly warmed wax and hand-poured into individual glasses. After settling, the wax is then paired with the perfect wick. No two fragrances burn in exactly the same way so waxes are custom blended for a specific scent. Jo Malone London has over 400 varieties of lead-free wicks at its disposal. Each wick is hand-placed centrally into the still-soft wax forming the heart of the candle and draws the liquid wax up through its core.

The event was held at Blackbird Restaurant at the Nielsen Tower in Makati Avenue, Makati. I have always loved the ambience of that resto because it's really very classy and elegant.

Oh! I just had to take a photo of this too! The hand wash and the lotion at the ladies room was Jo Malone too! I wanted to take them home! Hahaha! The English Pear and Freesia is just TDF.
That night I took home my very first Jo Malone perfumes. I now have 2 big ones and 2 small ones. The other one was given to me by my sister. She knows I just love perfumes. I haven't really tried the Red Roses Cologne because I am not really a big fan of roses, but I hear a lot of great things about this particular scent.

The nice thing about Jo Malone is that you can create countless of personalized scents for yourself by Fragrance Combining. You can mix and match anything from their line so that you have a very customized fragrance that is unique to you.
I have no idea yet on their price points here in Manila, bit I will definitely let you know as soon as the boutique opens! There will be an event on the 9th that I am going to, so I can update you guys then more about Jo Malone!
