Review on Elizabeth Arden's Radiance Blush in Sunburst
At my best friend's bachelorette party, Elizabeth Arden was one of my sponsors for the giveaways to ensure that me and my fellow bridesmaids look pretty on our friend's big day. Among the giveaways from Elizabeth Arden is their GWP Radiance Blush in Sunburst.
Aside from the packaging, this contains the actual blush in a 3.2g sample size that they really have in stores. The full size radiance blush is at 5.4g. This luxurious, oil-free powder blusher boasts a true color, high-pigment formula that contains a bunch of vitamins & antioxidants. So not only does it give you a natural, radiant glow, you also get a lot of skin-benefitting properties that help to soothe & protect your skin.

The photo below shows the actual packaging of this blush. I do adore that classic red door logo on a heavy gold plated compact. The glamorous and chic packaging is fab! It has an "it" girl feel to it.
The radiance blush collection comes in 6 beautiful, wearable shades, as in the photo below, they have – 01 Sunburst (which is the one we are reviewing today), which by the way the name "sunburst" is right on the money to describe the color. In my own words to best describe it, I would say it as a marriage between a peachy/pinky blush and a golden bronzer. And it works really well on either cool or warm skin tones! It gives a healthy looking (sunkissed) glow.
The other shades are Sweet Peach, Plum Perfection, Wild Berry, Pink Pop, and Terrarose.
The blush radiance's formula is very buildable, it starts up as sheer even if you swirl your brush on the pan several times, and just keep on adding on top of it if you want a doll-like appearance.
I have to be honest though, I didn’t really find it to be as long lasting as some reviews online had promised. Compared to my other blushers, this is not as long lasting but it does still have that faint flushed look after several house so I guess that's good enough.
In my career as a makeup artist, many women are afraid of using blush. But the key things you need to remember when using blush is that: #1, everything should be used in moderato, and #2 find the blush shade that suits and complements your skin tone and color! If you stick to these very basic principles, you will be left with a look that is naturally flushed and sculpted. Rather than looking over done and clown-like. We don't want that!
Normally I prefer using my personal blush brush from my brush set when I apply my blusher, but the little free applicator blush brush that you get in the compact is better than most freebies you get from other compacts. The bristles are firm yet soft and it sways in whichever direction you move it to. Not to mention, the brush tip is slightly rounded, so you won't find yourself looking streaky with blush that just look gaudy. So when I bring this compact with me when I travel, I wouldn’t be too devastated if I found myself in a situation where I forgot my makeup brush set.
Swatching the blush on my hand, the shade really reminds me of NARS' Orgasm blush. It's really pretty darn close down to the gold iridescent finish. I have been using Orgasm too for brides, and this would also be a good one to use because it really suits both skin undertones either warm or cool. I love how smooth the formula and texture is too! It's not chalky at all, making it easy to blend on the cheeks.
Now, here is the blush in action. You can see that it gives a very natural looking flush that is blended very well but with me not putting the extra effort in blending! It also suits my sometimes warm and sometimes cool skin tone which is very weird. Even without an eyeliner and mascara, you can still look very put together with the right shade and texture of blush.
Overall, I would say that I am impressed by this product: from the packaging, to the blush shade & the texture. Once again Elizabeth Arden lives up to its well known name. They are definitely one of my most celebrated brands both as a consumer, and a professional makeup artist.
