#spotlight

Believe it or not, I am one of those women who hardly wear makeup. You will often see me sans makeup except when I am attending events or I am out with friends for lunch or dinner. But most often than not, I do not wear makeup. Just sunblock, and a BB/CC Cream.

I love these multi-functional creams because they not only function as a tinted moisturizer, but it doubles as a spot corrector, anti-aging cream, moisturizer, sunblock, and gives coverage as well. CC Creams are made to color correct your tone making your skin more even in time.

CC Creams are lighter in consistency and in texture, and stands for Color Correcting or Color Control. Their main function is to counter redness of the skin, sallowness, or any other skin color problem that you may have.

The effect is rather instant because of the tint that is in the cream, but there are also long term effects. I just love that BB and CC Creams have lots of benefits and purpose in one product.

Both BB and CC Creams come in limited shades if not, only one. I don't know why they don't provide more shades, but I am just glad that I have fair skin so most BBs and CCs suit me. I just finished using Clinique's CC Cream and I would layer that CC Cream under my foundation too because it's light and it gives my skin a flawless finish.

ANEW's packaging comes pretty standard for a CC Cream. It's a squeezable tube and screw top cap that doesn't allow the contents to spill.

It's quite simple to use. You can either use it on its own or as a makeup base. I love using it as a base when I want a more flawless, full coverage finish. But if I just want to stay protected from the sun but still look dashing, I use it alone.

Avon's packaging has always impressed me. They're top notch and they look expensive but their prices are actually very affordable, even their high-end line which is Anew. I can't say it enough. I love brands that don't scrimp on packaging.

Just a little drop like this covered my whole hand. It has a light, slightly gel-ish texture but is actually creamy. It glides on like a primer on the face that makes it spreadable, you won't have to tug on your skin!

The finish is like soft silk-velvet, if that even makes sense. You can really feel and see the difference it does on the surface of the skin. Fine lines are masked and what is left is a very smooth base ready for makeup application.

Dotting the face like this makes a more even application. The product glides on smoothly so you don't have to tug and pull on your skin.

I love the finish, it's very light and your skin can breathe! It's better than feeling like second skin because it seems like you didn't put anything at all but blemishes are covered real well. Not as much as full-coverage would do, but it's enough for you to be able to wear it on its own.

With the Flexibility Test though, it creased a lot in the nose and eye area so I had to spread more on that part with a sponge so that the sponge would pick up some excess product so it won't crease some more during the day.

This may seem silly, but I learned this technique in Hong Kong when I studied makeup there in 2007. They ask the models or their clients to smile after applying foundation so they see where they are prone to crease the most.

Here are some areas I need to avoid putting too much product. Once you determine with area you need to avoid, then your foundation won't crease so much.

Here's a photo of me wearing loose powder on top of the CC Cream. It looks very natural! I also used Ellana's Lip and Cheek Gel underneath the powder.
