Creating natural looking brows with Maybelline Fashion Brow Sharp Pencil

#eyespymondays

Lately, I find myself unable to leave the house without having to groom my brows first. I can skip everything else except for my brows... and my powder... and my blush... ok, and my lippie. Fine, I can't leave the house without putting on an acceptable and decent face, but it's the brows that I have to groom real well.

The last time Maybelline came out with anything to do with the eyebrows was their Maybelline Eye Studio Fashion Eyebrow 24H Coloring Mascara, which was also a HUGE hit with not only for me, but for all brow enthusiasts who have been looking for the perfect washable brow coloring tool.

And now, Maybelline comes out with their own eye brow pencil that ladies would sure love! Not only is it super affordable, it's compact and very convenient to use as well.

Maybelline Fashion Brow Sharp Pencil in Light Brown, PhP 359

More after the Fashion Brow Sharp Pencil after the cut!

When doing eyebrows either on me or on clients, I make sure that I make it as natural looking as possible. Blending is also important so the product's blend-ability is also important. Although I wouldn't recommend pencils also that are so blend-able that they become smudgy. Don't use kohl pencils for your brows because they can smudge.
Maybelline's Fashion Brown Sharp Pencil is a mechanical pencil. You just twist the body and the product comes out. It doesn't have a pointed tip so the word "sharp" doesn't apply to its description.
The other end of the pencil is a spoolie brush that you can use to blend the product and groom the hairs of your brows.
This pencil comes in two shades: Light Brown and Dark Brown, and is only PhP 359 each! I think the light brown shade is perfect for me to just fill in the gaps in my brows. I have really thick eyebrows so just filling in the areas with thin hairs would be enough to make my brows look put together and well-groomed.
Don't over extend the product because it breaks easily! Just dispense a small amount and with very, very light feathery strokes, start filling in the brows with short, hair-like strokes -mimicking the hair of your brows to make your brows look as natural as possible.
Use the spoolie brush end to blend the harsh line and to groom the hairs as well, and make them all come together in one direction.
And VOILA! Natural looking brows! I would definitely recommend this pencil for beginners because it's easy to control and it creates the most natural looking brows. It's quite simple to use too! It's mechanical so you can retract the product and bring it around in your "kikay" kit every where you go.

I find myself reaching out for this pencil lately because I haven't been able to have my brows threaded so I need a natural looking brow product to make my brows look put together, but not drawn on.

  2. I like this one! Just discovered it last month. I have dark brown hair that is almost black, and I use the Light Brown, it looks more natural, doesn't look like light brown, but it looks ashy. Doesn't give me the mataray look.
