I had my first lecture at L'Oreal's Academie for Maybelline. I was just helping out Barbie for this stint because she's busy with shoots, so Lancôme agreed for me to do this makeup demo for Maybelline but not as under them, but as a "guest makeup artist", since it was an in-house project and it was for the same company.

I did 8 models, including 2 for the stage makeup demo. The other 3 was for the live coloring and cut, and the other 3 were professional models who modeled the look of "natural color" hair coloring by L'Oreal Professionnel.

The makeup I used were great too. They were promoting the Mousse foundation called White Stay in True Beige and Light Beige. An air-whipped mousse textured foundation provides a look with an air-soft feel, paired with Maybelline's Summer eyeshadow collection with shades of greens, blues, and plums, a blush of apricot and nude lips in angelic hues of orange and plum, it was the perfect Maybelline look for summer.

I had a lot of fun giving tips and tricks to a lot of salon people attending the class, but some of them were not as open minded as others. Most of the "pioneers" in the business wasn't open about the fact that you can look pretty without using a lot of products on the face and without using heavy contouring. Some looked as if they didn't really care what a young makeup artist had to say about makeup, but I gave my 101% in the lecture, and made them feel that they are welcome to take my expert advises, or not.

It was a really cool experience since it was a first for me. At first I didn't know how to use the products since I have gotten used to using Lancôme, but I'm glad that I still got to use another makeup line, and not screw it up. Hahaha! The best part was meeting the rest of the Maybelline and L'Oreal Professionnel team whom I have only met through text before. I met Robbie from Maybelline, and Birdie of L'Oreal. I also had a blast with he models backstage while we were waiting for the afternoon class to start. They were so fun to be with, and for them being in the industry for so long, I got a few good tips from them too! We got stuck backstage for a while so we did nothing but let our imaginations run wild, talking to Roy (foreign guest L'Oreal Color Professional) about Ukay Ukay, Recto, and 168! Hahaha!One of the best things in my job is that you get to meet a lot of different people everyday. You get to build a rapport with the people you work with, even though you don't get to spend that much time with them. And when you see each other outside of work, the bond is there which is the best feeling in the world.
