This shoot was for PREVIEW Magazine's CHOSEN ONE. It came out early last year! Haha! Sorry guys, it's only now all these photos are surfacing! I want to show and tell you all about my work!Anyhoo... This is actually my favorite segment to shoot ever since I started shooting with Preview because I get to see what's new in the fashion world! Expensive and branded shoes and bags I can try on too including Louis Vuitton driving shoes!! Hahaha!
Another reason why I love shooting CHOSEN ONE is because it challenges me... After doing 5 or 6 different looks, you run out of ideas so you really have to think on your feet, and see where your brush takes you. We were able to do a total of 12 layouts. This shoot was styled by Preview Mag's Fashion Editor, Anne Bella. Our photographer today was Pat Dy. I have worked with Pat several times already! And if some of you remember, he is the one who did the article "PREVIEW MAGAZINE'S BEST NEW MAKEUP ARTISTS" shoot.

We had breaks in between takes so we got to joke around with Barbi Chan and Raymond Santiago who were both there too for another shoot. Today's hairstylist was Angelo Falconi. A senior hairstylist and ambassador for L'Oreal Proffesionnel. Our model was Argentinean girl Mercedes who stands at 5'9" with really gorgeous hair that we all wanted to pull out and take home!

2005...

My very first editorial with Preview was an exciting experience. They said that once you work with Preview, "you're in the industry".
I made it a point that I arrived at our location at SUMMIT STUDIO earlier than everyone else. I took a cab, set up my rugged (not to mention, HUGE) makeup kit that I managed to carry all by myself! I waited for a few minutes until the model, Ella Evangelista arrived. The stylist, and of course my friend Liz Uy, wanted the look to have a summer-y feel. Then our photographer, Jake Verzosa arrived. Introductions were made, then we each went to work.

Liz arrived with dozens of shopping bags filled with pullouts (of course, back then I didn't know that that's what it's called) of clothes from different stores, shoes, hats, accessories, and lots of other stuff! Liz and I caught up on what's new with us while we waited for Ella to get changed.
After about 6 hours (or was it more?) we finally wrapped up our shoot. It was a success! We stayed for a while and chatted some more before leaving for Makati. Liz was so nice and assured me that even though I was new in the "editorial scene", I had a promising career. Although I told myself that I still had a long way to go... I needed to practice, practice, PRACTICE!
To this day, her comforting words stuck to my head and became the voice in my head to do better and constantly reminds me to always have both feet on the ground.

I used to work with Noelle Hernandez with her as the model, but with this editorial, this was the first time I worked with her as the photographer! This came out in Preview Magazine's Chosen One a few months back.
