My Perfect Evening Look with Bobbi Brown!

I love Bobbi Brown, I love how their products are made to enhance the natural beauty of a woman. I received this duo from my Bobbi Brown family just after New Year and I fell in love with the colors immediately! Firstly, I love bluish liners and eyeshadows, and secondly, the sets they send me usually go together real well.

These two belong to different collections. The eyeshadow is a new addition to their makeup collection, while the lip gloss comes from the Scotch on the Rocks collection which came out in November 2014. I had dinner with some friends and I wanted minimal makeup but I wanted to look chic at the same time. As some of you may already know, I have been a little lazy in putting on my makeup lately, and I was surprised that this duo gave me that chic look in under 10 minutes!

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Sparkle in Night Sky, PhP 1,750 | Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Scarlet, PhP 1,300

Check out the look I came up with after the break!

BOBBI BROWN LONG-WEAR GEL SPARKLE
Inspired by Bobbi’s iconic Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and the looks backstage at Fashion Week, Bobbi Brown introduces Long-Wear Gel Sparkle. This two in-one liner and shadow hybrid takes high-impact and high-drama to new heights.
The easy-to-apply formula delivers a kaleidoscope of color and buildable sparkle to create a variety of standout eye looks. Smudge, smoke, line or define using the new Dual-Ended Cream Smudge/ Ultra-Fine Eye Liner Brush for eyes that can be metallic and glittery or subtle and sexy—perfect for backstage glamour or long-wearing, everyday chic.
A unique blend of pearls creates an intense three dimensional, prism effect. Plate-like reflex pearls create a mirrored surface, giving Long-Wear Gel Sparkle a highly reflective quality. Long-Wear Gel Sparkle’s unique base and rich pearl-infused pigment deliver intense color that stays fresh and true all day.
Although I must say that these aren't as pigmented as I had hoped for it to double as a liner. It's quite muted for a liner. You will have to layer on a similar color of eyeshadow for it to pop out. It is so nice to use as a shadow though! It's nice and blend-able and it creates a really great smokey look in an instant!

I don't know why some blogs abroad show in their photos that these are very pigmented. I don't know if that's because of the shade they used or if they are manipulated through photoshop, but the following swatches below are what they looked on me.
BOBBI BROWN LIP GLOSS (LIMITED EDITION)
This lipgloss has fantastic, non-sticky formula that I love using now a days because it's highly pigmented and I don't have to use a base lipstick under it to make the color pop! It has a sleek packaging too!
Rich red lip glosses are among my most used makeup products in my collection ever. I find myself reaching for them a lot and it's really a shade that I actually finish on a regular basis. So when I received this lip gloss from the Scotch on the Rocks collection from Bobbi Brown, I was thrilled! It's a perfect shade for me!
It has a dark red (slightly more wine than berry in my opinion) with a great pigment/shine ratio, plus reliable formula that's not too thick and sticky when you press your lips together. There's a slight vanilla-berry scent that goes away quickly when you apply it on your lips and enough pigment to leave a tint once the lustre of the gloss wears off.
I have always liked Bobbi Brown's lip glosses and this shade Sacrlet is a good reminder why I do--- lip gloss is a very staple product in a makeup brand, but Bobbi's lip glosses are something that just looks and feels good on yourself. The tube takes a tiny space in one's purse and it's easy to use for quick touch ups.
I noticed that the Long-Wear Gel Sparkle did last the whole day and it didn't budge once it set on my lids. I love that because you don't have to worry if you have oily lids or if you sweat in those areas. I put my makeup on for a dinner at around 5:30 PM, when I got home at around 11:00 PM, my eyeshadow was still very much intact! It was perfect!
On my face, I am using: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF15+ in Warm Sand, set with Covergirl TruBlend Minerals Mineral Pressed Powder in Translucent Light, Bobbi Brown blush in Berry on my cheeks, Happy Skin Eye Love View Pencil and Marker Eyebrow Duo in Chic Brown, Canmake Nose Shadow Powder, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Sparkle in Night Sky, Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Scarlet, and

Purchased For: Gift from Bobbi Brown (Thank You!)
Will I re-purchase? Yes.
Will I recommend it? Yes.

MY OVERALL RATING: ★★★★

  1. Wow! Bobbi Brown is da bomb when it comes to cosmetics, but sad to say I've never tried them. These 2 items are so easy to use and I guess perfect for beginners (?) too.

  2. I'm honestly surprised by the pigmentation on the gloss. I've tried their sparkly, sheer gloss before (Bellini). I loved how the formula was shiny without having to be sticky, and it had a cooling minty sensation. :)
