#productreview

I have been obsessed with having my hair dyed red for a while now, and I was thrilled to have come across L'Oreal's NEW Excellence Fashion Hair Dye Series in different levels of red: Intense Ruby Red, Intense Violet Red, Intense Spicy Red, and Intense Copper Red. This is a first in the Philippine Market. A bright red do-it-yourself, home kit dye. I decided to go with the most subtle red they had just in case this one works really well on my perfectly damaged hair.

L'Oreal Paris Excellence Fashion in Intense Ruby Red, PhP 555.00 (less 10% now at Landmark, PhP 499.50)
I got overly excited to open the box and do my hair that I forgot to take photos of what comes with it. So I am posting a photo from the fabulous SHINEKOH.COM from Singapore who also did this do-it-yourself dye kit (thank you!):

She chose Spicy Red but the contents are very much the same. I did my Googling and I couldn't find these dyes anywhere except in Singapore and Hong Kong. I am assuming that this line is only available in Asian Countries.

(Photo above) This is the promise: Before and After results that should take place. But that didn't happen to my hair. Booo!

So, what did I think of the dye? I am pretty satisfied with the outcome. But my results were not as stunning as @shinekoh's.

The instructions were pretty much easy to follow, very idiot-proof, so don't worry about making a mistake in mixing the solutions together. But hey! If you are not as confident and comfortable in dyeing your own hair, and if you want to do something drastic with it, I still recommend going to the salon and having it done professionally. Trust me.

Since my hair is no longer a virgin (NNnnnnnoooooooo!!!), I have undergone so much treatments with my hair that it didn't work like I expected.

Here is my photo taken outdoors and in the morning:

It's not that bad actually, I kinda like it. It's not what I expected, but it's not that bad! It has some kind of a messed up Ombre feel to it. Ha!

Up-close and personal, this is what it looks:

The bleached portion in the middle of the hair didn't absorb so much of the dye (since I am not a hairstylist, I don't know why... Maybe it's finally fed up of all the chemicals). Nearing the crown and my tips though soaked up most of the color making my hair look ombre-d. Indoors though, my hair just looks cellophane-d red.

L'Oreal Paris has done an excellent job with this product line of hair dyes, as always. It just didn't work well with my hair because my hair already has already been through so much. Home hair dying kits tend to go lighter in time, so we'll see again how my hair will look in a few weeks (Heaven help me!). Let's see shall we?

  1. So red! Definitely intense!

that's a shame it didn't work so well on your hair. My hair is the same way, fed up with chemicals. I just let it do its own thing now. I am curious about the copper red though, I love copper tones!

    1. It's so sad right? Coz I really want to dye my own hair whatever color fancies me... But I guess they don't make the chemicals too strong since it's a home dyeing kit. They're probably playing it safe ;)
