Bye-Bye Lady-Stache!
One of my pet peeves is having lady staches. You know, that thick patch of hair that grows on the sides of our upper lips? Well, there is no easy way to say this, but I will just put it bluntly like ripping off a waxing strip so to speak.
It's unattractive and it's ugly (sorry). Makeup doesn't stick to them so no matter how lovely you apply your makeup, it would still look flaky and dirty. There are a lot of facial products now that get rid of these 'staches so there is no excuse anymore.
I have a lot of women sending me emails asking if waxing it off or threading it will make it thicker, but I say no. It won't. Shaving will.
Bleaching your face won't help either because it is the hair itself that makeup doesn't stick too (specially powder). These hairs (even really fine ones) cast shadows on your face making your skin look dry and dull. I really recommend threading. But since threading needs special training, home waxing kits it best!
Veet Wax Strips for Face, PhP 199.00 |
Aside from Nanny Rose's Queen Bee Hoe Waxing kit which I use for my pits and my arms, Veet has got to be my next fave for the face. It's not messy so you don't have to worry about wax spilling on your brows and accidentally waxing them off. Ha!
The box contains 12 strips and 2 finishing wipes. Which is weird that you have 12 strips and you only get 2 wipes. Hmmm....
The strips are very easy to use, no fuss no mess! I would recommend leaving the hard to reach areas to the pros though, but this is perfect for waxing off those nasty lady-staches!

DeleteI'd wax my ladystache, but I don't like having to wait for it to grow out...I hate seeing the 'stubble'! :(
ReplyDeleteFor individual stubbles that start to grow back, use tweezers! It's ouchie but it works :)
DeleteI never really had the guts to shave my lady-stache (love how you call it haha) I'm traumatised that it would grow thicker and noticeable. But reading this post made me want to remove it haha! But I might go to a salon to have it thread, or is it better if I do it myself? :D
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Well, that is basically all women's fear if they don't know how it works. If you constantly pull the hair out from the root, it won't make stubbles :) The reason why men have stubbles on their faces is because they only shave it :) If you keep waxing the hair or having it threaded then eventually the hairs grow thinner and thinner :) If it will be your first time, I suggest going to a reputable salon and have it done :) Just tell them which areas you need threading, sometimes they go over board and do your eyebrows too and make them too thin! :) Good luck and let me know how it turns out :)
