#eyespymondays

I know you must have heard it a thousand times before that "kilay is life". I agree. It is. A much as I do not throw that term around often, I do agree that the eyebrows can make or break your look. So to me, taking your time to groom them is a must in any makeup routine.

Good makeup products are hard to come by. But thanks to a lot of brands lately, they are starting to catch on in this "kilay is life" madness that they have started to come out with very competitive eyebrow products. Not to mention, how our usually conservative culture are starting to actually put on more time to care about how they look.

Allow me to tell you about Pink Sugar.
I must say, Pink Sugar has been impressing me a lot lately. Their products can be used professionally and yet, be very budget friendly for personal use.

At the height of my makeup career (2007), where I was shooting left and right -there were times when I needed to buy makeup that I would need in a shoot. I would have to opt for expensive branded ones because the local brands that we had could not do the job well.

Now, whenever I needed new makeup or whenever I needed to replenish makeup in my kit, I would check the local brands first and move my way up.

One of the main reasons why I love using Pink Sugar lately is one, it is a homegrown brand -support local and all that.

Two, I love how their makeup is catered to the Filipina skin. Climate plays an important role in good makeup application so knowing how makeup will react to our humid climate is a must.

Pink Sugar's Honey I'm Good Eyebrow Kit is one of the staples in my makeup kit right now, both my professional and personal kit.

It comes in two shades: Perfect Taupe and Sassy Brown. These shades cater to a lot of Filipina's chosen hair color, so I love carrying them in my kit.
At first glance, you may not notice a difference with the two palettes but they do.
Perfect Taupe has a more ashy finish, while Sassy Brown has a more reddish brown finish. I myself prefer Perfect Taupe on myself because my hair is blonde half the time.
Blending the eyebrows is really important. If you are just new in this whole eyebrow thing, please learn how to blend. Not only in the edges, but the entire eyebrow.

I used the wax from the kit to define the shape of the brow that I want. I use an angled eyebrow brush to control it better. Then I filled my entire brow with the powder shade I want.

Here are my brows filled in with Honey I'm Good Eyebrow Powder. If I do not blend it well, it would look like I were a character from Sesame Street.
After blending with a Q-Tip, my favorite eyebrow blending tool, it would look like this:
The eyebrows should look whole, but NOT as if you drew them on. Your eyebrows should look full with hair, and not full with product.

Now let's move on to the Eyebrow Gel.

I am one of those people who are blessed with full eyebrows. Whenever I get lazy to do my brows, I would reach out for these gels and just brush them on quickly and I am left with perfectly groomed brows.

If you love having your hair colored but don't want to dye your brows, then brow gels is a must. You can easily tint your brows that match the hair on your head and keep them in place as well.

Pink Sugar's Eyebrow Gels are really pigmented so you only need a little to groom your eyebrows. They come in three shades: Blonde, Taupe, and Brunette. I personally use taupe because my natural hair color is dark brown and I love having my brows a shade lighter so I can brighten up my face.
Swatches of the Eyebrow Gels look promising. If you have blonde hair, it would be nice to really lighten the eyebrows with the blonde shade. If you have light hair but not exactly blonde, then the taupe shade would be nice. Brown if you don't color your hair but want to tint it just a little bit.
I don't wear a whole lot of makeup lately because of this heat. I love keeping my makeup up to a minimum by wearing a light foundation, some color on my cheeks a bright lip color, and perfectly groomed eyebrows.
By doing your eyebrows before you step out, you will always look put together, even though you don't have anything else on your face.

Pink Sugar's Honey I'm Good Eyebrbrow products are semi-waterproof. You can swim with them on as long as you do not rub your face with a towel, you should be fine.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:

  1. Finding brow products that work well is super important! Love these and the fact that you blended out the product. My pet peeve is seeing those "Instagram-brows" that are so clearly drawn on. This on the other hand, is gorgeous and beautiful!
