#aboutface

It's been a while since I posted anything about beauty, and most of you are here to read about beauty stuff so, here you go.

Let me tell you all about Clinique's version of makeup remover wipes. That is, if you haven't heard about it yet. Don't get hung up on the fancy name, it's basically makeup removing wipes that uses micellar water. It's gentle on the face, the eyes, the lips and yet so effective! So it's definitely worth giving it a second look.

When I received this from Clinique, I was quite intimidated and did not want to use it because I thought it had some special way to use. But once you get passed the fact that it's from Clinique, you will find how it is so useful, especially on those lazy nights when you're just too tired to wash your face.
Clinique Take The Day Off Micellar Cleansing Towelettes
for Face and Eyes, PhP 990

It comes in sturdy plastic packaging. Not like one of those wipes you usually buy at the grocery store where they tear as soon as you lift and pull the sticker.

As a makeup artist, these towelettes come in very handy! Specially when you switch lip colors at a shoot or correcting makeup mistakes at a wedding.
When you open the packaging, the wipes are very moist to remove your entire made up face with just one towelette if you do not wear a lot of makeup. But if you are like me who loves to wear foundation during the day, two towelettes may be needed.
The material of the towel is very strong and does not tear easily. It does not dry up easily too so you can take your time to work through with removing your makeup effectively.
Now, with putting these to the test. Here is made-up me after a day out. I am wearing full on makeup from foundation to waterproof eyeliner to long lasting lipstick.

To remove makeup from half my face, I used up one towelette. If you would like to use just one for your entire face, you could. But I doubt if you will be able to remove all of the makeup off your face though. There might be residue, and sleeping with a dirty face can make you breakout!

I guess this is comparable to H2O+'s Cleansing Wipes. They have the same price as well. If you are one of those women who suffer from really sensitive skin, this would be the wipes for you.

If you were on a tighter budget though, Celeteque's DermoScience Makeup Remover Cleansing Facial Wipes would definitely be the next best thing. But to me? I find that Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets works best with waterproof mascara.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:

Length of usage before review: Everyday for the past week

PROS
  • Removes makeup effectively.
  • It does not have any annoying fragrance so even people with sensitive skin can use these.
  • Great packaging! It keeps the towels nice and moist for a long time.
  • Material of the towelettes are soft and is not grainy as most wipes. They are very smooth and won't scratch the surface of the skin.
  • Works well with waterproof makeup. Does not take a lot of rubbing to remove them from your face.

CONS
  • Pricey. But I would definitely recommend this for women with extra sensitive skin. It does not contain ingredients that normal wipes have.
  • Comes in only big packaging, so might be hard to travel with.

MY OVERALL RATING: ★★★

  1. It definitely sounds like a good product but it's always shocking how expensive makeup wipes can be!
