My New Year's Eve Look using Inglot

#eyespymondays #productreviews

I am so excited for New Year's Eve! You get all dressed up and made up, and the perfect overall look takes careful planning! Every year, my cousins and I meet up after the "salubong" and go out clubbing until the wee hours of the morning to meet the first sunrise of the new year!

When Inglot was launched and we were given a freedom palette to fill up as our giveaway, I had the New Year's Eve countdown in mind. I love getting all dolled up on NYE so that I will be beautiful all year round (superstitious much?) LOL

INGLOT Freedom System: Freedom Palette PhP (Price TBA)  | Freedom Shadow Pan and Brow Pan PhP 375.00/each

I was so excited to choose the shades for my NYE look this year! Things I had to consider when choosing my pans for my palette: My outfit, reusability, and my hair color. I know for a fact that I am going to be sporting red hair until the end of first quarter next year.

The freedom system is so fun because you will be able to customize your palette! No more wasting that shade that you don't like so you get to choose only the shades you want. I must warn you though... It will take you a long time to swatch all the shadows available so make sure that you have a lot of time to spare.

Packaging is quite simple and classy. Professional looking and packaging is not flimsy. The ingredients list is printed in a separate sheet of paper and included in the box.

When i was choosing my pans, I wanted to include an eyebrow powder so that I can bring the palette everywhere and I won't have to bring a separate product for my brows.

Inglot's Freedom Palette is very well made and beautifully designed. Sleek and sturdy materials were used. I specially love the tiny magnets on the corners and you can slide the cover each way you want. There's no right side up, just slide it whichever corner you want!

If you prefer, you can remove the cover altogether to give you more access.

Peeling the protective film on the shadows is very tricky so be careful! It's pretty hard to peel off so take extra precaution. You don't want your shadow flying about and breaking it! I love this packaging because you know that the eyeshadows don't have air passing through so makeup is very fresh and pigment intact.

The pans fit in perfectly and the magnets are pretty strong so it sticks very well! You can invert it and the shadows don't have a risk of falling off.

The three pans I chose are: 1 brow powder, 2 eyeshadows and a blush. I will make a separate review on the blush so keep your panties on! LOL

The brow powder that I chose is reddish brown to match my hair. I didn't want to end up having blonde eyebrows and my hair is red. So it's all about matching in the same color family.

Eyebrow powder is very pigmented to remember to pick up as little as product as possible and just build the color as you go along. You don't want to end up with so much product on your brows!

The eyeshadows are very pigmented as well. The swatches you see above are just a single swipe on my hand and you can see how pigmented they are (can I say 'pigmented' more? Ha!)

To create a beautiful bronze/copper smoke, I first applied the lighter shadow all over my lid.

And then I applied the darker bronze shadow on the outer side of my lids to create a sort of lifting effect. Don't forget to apply some dark eyeshadow on your lashlines to give a smokey effect. Just blend with a clean blending brush to mash the shadows together.

I love that the brow powder was able to correct the shape of my brows that BareNaked Salon ruined. I would have to grow them again and have them groomed at my usual salon.

I will be spending New Year in Baguio this year. It will be cold so the browns, bronze and copper shades will add warmth on my face. I don't want to look washed out and pale! The warm earth shades will give my whole look a sun-kissed, glow from within look.

My New Year 2013 Makeup Look

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:
PROS
  • Highly pigmented!
  • Smooth consistency. Easy to blend!
  • Affordable single shadows.
  • So much shades available!
  • Brow: Not too chalky. Formula is powder but has a bit of creamy texture.
  • One location only for now which is in Makati! (This is a CON for people who live far from Makati)
  • Initial investment for the Freedom Palette System is a bit pricey but well worth it!
  • A lot of matte shades are available as well, so not just shimmer shades.
  • You can also use this shadow wet but only with a slightly damp brush.
  • Long wearing.
CONS
  • Too much shades to choose from! (This is a CON for me because you can't just have one, two, or ten! LOL)

MY OVERALL RATING: ★★★★★

  1. Hi Sabs, I recently dyed my hair red too and we have matching hair now! Haha. I'll take note of which brow powder shade you got since I'll need a new one too to match my hair.

I was wondering if you got permanent hair color too? I only got semi-permanent (Revlon Colorsilk Luminista) so the color constantly bleeds when my hair is still wet which is what I expected. If yours is permanent, does it still bleed too or only after a few washes? I've only ever gone semi-permanent with red and plan to get it permanently colored at the end of the month. Thanks!

    1. Hi Sweetie! Red hair is so in! Hehehe... Anyway, I used Revlon's Luminista red hair dye as well, you can find my post HERE. But before that I has a permanent coloring at Alex Carbonell so I have a slightly red base. You can find the post HERE. Yes, every time I wash my hair the shampoo bubbles still turn pinkish which means a little bit of the dye still gets washed off. It will always be like this with pigmented home hair dyeing kits that's why the color usually lasts only 3-4 weeks, but if you're lucky, it could last longer. I got addicted to Lolane's Chocolate Red Cellophane home kit and that one makes my hair's red color last longer! You can find the post HERE.

  7. Do you have problems about replacing the pans from the palette? Or was it disposable as is?
