Dress-Up your outfits with Maybelline's Bold Matte Lipsticks!

I think lippies make or break your entire look. You can skip everything else on some days and just dress up your face with a great bold lip color and you're good to go!

Maybelline's Bold Matte lippies are here! Actually, they've been around a while but it's only now I had the opportunity to dissect and review each one. I have always loved Maybelline. They're very affordable and they have fantastic pigments!

So, let's see how their Bold Matte will fair.

Let's start with the packaging. I think their Bold Mattes would have been nicer if they had names but I guess Mat1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 works too.



The lipsticks look creamy more than it does dry like normal matte lipsticks. The shades look bold from the tube.


The formula however glides on like lip balm. The finish is more creamy velvet than matte. The first swatch is a singe swipe, and the second swatch is 3 swipes to get the full effect of the lipstick.

Before we begin, let me tell you that I love Maybelline. They have more hits than misses from the very start. This review shouldn't be the sole basis of your decision to purchase these lipsticks.










MY THOUGHTS

 PROS
  • The lipstick is not drying. Unlike most matte lipsticks.
  • Available in all leading department stores, drugstores, and supermarkets. Basically everywhere!
  • Shades are very bold.
  • No strong perfume smell.
  • This lipstick line is very moisturizing.
  • Perfect for girls who are just starting to wear makeup.
  • Very affordable!
CONS
  • Because of its creamy/balmy texture, it is not long wearing.
  • Needs several swipes on the lips to get the full lip color.
  • Looks more glossy than matte.
  • If not set properly, it bleeds.
  • Shades are similar with each other. Except MAT 1.

MY OVERALL RATING: ★★★☆☆
I gave this product line a 3 star not because it's not good. I think that the pigment is good as long as you layer it, and it's not as matte as I hoped it would be. Hence, the 3 star.

Matte! and all you have swatched! walang itatapon.. bet ko lahat ng kulay! my fave would be the MAT1!!! and oh dear oh dear ..399php!!! sana kasama ito sa huge sale ng Maybelline ngayon ♥♥♥ i love that this wouldnt be drying!     Maybelline had a sale on Rob Manila Last week and I really fell inlove with these bold matte lippies! I also swatched their nude collection and as I was thinking of buying it, im afraid it would not suit me. :( I swatched this collection too on their stall and realized it needs more application. i love myabelline especially their cheeky glow! so pigmented and really makes your skin look fresh! xx

      When buying makeup, best to swatch them on your lips instead on just your hand because each of our lips have different acidity levels, compared to what is omitted on our hands. Just remember to wipe the tube with tissue before you test... Give it about 5 minutes on your lips and go out on natural light to check the real color ♥

    Actually the perfect shape of your lips got more of my attention than the color hahaha :) but I would like to try the MAT 1, it doesn't look matte but atleast its non-drying :)

    I thought they're really 'matte'/dry in consistency. I would def try the MAT1, every shade suits you :)

    You're so nice. If I were to rate this, baka nga 1 star lang. When you label something as matte, it should be matte. :P Buti lang I tested this out first before buying it.
