Review on Eye of Horus Liquid Define Eyeliner

#eyespymondays

One of the best traits of an eyeliner pen is when it draws true black. Not gray, not blask-ish, but true black. And that is what I found in Eye of Horus' liquid liners. It stays black all day without retouching and it stays put too.

When I am in the mood, I wear eyeliner so I’ve tried out quite a few eyeliners in my makeup lifetime: liquid, gel, pencil, kohl, you name it, but I've found out that defining the eyes with felt-tip liquid liner is the easiest to use, and gives your more control. Specially when I do brides.
Eye of Horus Liquid Define 2g, PhP 990

Addicted to liquid liners? Then this is the liner for you! More about Liquid Define after the break!

EOH Liquid Define glides on smoothly and effortlessly to create bold lines. Perfect for women who do not have a lot of control when applying eyeliner (we've all been there!) As always, jet-black eyeliners frame the eyes with perfect precision, specially if you want to correct or even out an eye shape.

You will be happy to know that this liner dries almost instantly and won’t imprint on eyelids, no need to worry about smudging! Stays on until you remove it with an oil-based makeup remover.
This eyeliner is rapidly becoming one of my favorite liners when doing brides. It doesn't smudge even when they cry buckets, plus it's so easy to control! The uber-black shade masks the lash-bands of falsies lashes well giving a nicely defined lash line.

Here's a bride of mine, Ivory Ezpeleta. I used the liquid define on her to disguise the lash band of the falsies I applied on her. The hyper sharp tip of the liner makes it easy to get in between small spaces making the liner look hole and solid.
And another bride of mine, Jas Masaya. I love how this liner really makes my life easier as a makeup artist! It glides on easily, and no matter how oily your lids are, you can be sure that it will last all day!
It's very easy to handle too! The body is not too slim that it'll make it so uneasy to control. Instead, it has a slightly thicker body than your regular ball point pen so it's really natural to hold.
Its felt tip applicator let's you have complete control on whether you want to go for an ultra thin line (to get in between those eyelashes) or a thick line (to lift the shape of your eyes), however you wear your eyeliner, it will give you a clean, sharp line. The felt tip applicator isn’t 100% stiff like some eyeliners do which hurt your skin when you apply it. It's not flimsy or does it go "poof" after a while, it maintains its shape until you have finished all that is in your liner.
Applying this liner on your eyelid (whose skin is very thin) is very smooth. No need to worry about it skipping because some formulas tend to do that like Peripera's Very Nice Pen Eyeliner, with EOH Liquid Define, one stroke will give you a smooth and even very black line with a little bit of gloss to it -not glossy though, it's just not a flat matte.
I love creating a slight flick at the end of my liner to give my almond-shaped eyes a little lift. Since I do not have deep-set eyes, I'm afraid drawing a cat-eye liner look will not be seen because my puffy lids will just cover up the line so I just do a little lift at the end.

I like applying liquid liner after tight-lining my lash lines so that there won't be spaces of skin left there when I curl my lashes and apply mascara.
You can see that by tight-lining, the liner looks very solid, and there is no blank spaces of skin you can see. I think that looks quite un-attractive, so if you haven't learned how to tight-line your eyes yet, now is the perfect timing to learn!
After tight-lining my lashlines with Eye of Horus Goddess Smokey Eye Pencil, I used 2 coats of Eye of Horus Black Mascara to blend my natural lashes and the falsies together.

  1. So that's why it's a bit pricey - it does perform well and the result is what I look for in an eye liner. ^_^ I guess I have to invest in Eye of Horus if I want a really lasting eye liner. Thanks for the post!
