#spotlight

I am so thrilled to share with you this fabulous gift set I received from Max Factor. They have launched a Marilyn Monroe Campaign and it's just to die for! They put together products in the box that would help recreate Marilyn's icon red-lip and luscious lashes look. This box is not for sale, but each product is available at the all Max Factor counters nationwide!

I love red lippies and red nail polish so this is just perfect for me! Red really dresses up any outfit you have on that's why I am very supportive of this campaign! This year is a time to embrace change and new possibilities for the year ahead. Max Factor is calling out on women around the world to put glamour on the agenda for 2015. This month, there is no better time to Glam Up with Make Up and embrace a glamorous transformation. Max Factor introduces #GLAMJAN!

MARILYN MONROE™ RETURNS TO MAX FACTOR

It was Mr. Max Factor who transformed Norma Jeane into Marilyn Monroe with an iconic beauty look that captured the hearts of the world. Today Max Factor celebrates this fantastic story, with the announcement of Marilyn Monroe as Global glamour ambassador.

2015 marks 80 years since Mr. Max Factor Junior opened the doors of his Hollywood make-up studio, transforming the looks of Hollywood’s elite. His most iconic client of all? Norma Jeane. Norma Jeane entered his Blonde Room in the late 1940s as a brunette, and thanks to Mr. Max Factor emerged complete with platinum blonde hair, a beauty look fit for Marilyn Monroe. Since then Max Factor make-up was used to create an icon in Marilyn Monroe.

Today, as the world returns to normality after the season of glitz and glamour, Max Factor announces Marilyn Monroe as its global glamour ambassador. This exciting partnership is set to inspire women around the globe to undergo their own personal glamour transformation, one that they never imagined possible, at a time of year when they’re more open than ever to new possibilities.
Max Factor Global Creative Design Director, Pat McGrath comments on the signing,
“Marilyn made the sultry red lip, creamy skin and dramatically lined eyes the most famous beauty look of the 1940’s and it’s a look that continues to dominate the beauty and fashion industry. It is the ultimate look that defines glamour – nothing else compares. Ruby Tuesday, inspired by one of Marilyn’s favourite Max Factor lipsticks, is still my go-to red today for an instant shot of glamour, and continues to be one of the most popular shades for both make-up artists and real women. It’s the ultimate glamorous red.”

Welcome to #GlamJan
January is the time of year when women are re-imagining themselves, are open to new possibilities and are embracing change into the New Year. This is when Max Factor will launch #GlamJan, a rallying call encouraging women from around the world to glam up with make-up and undergo a personal glamour transformation they never imagined possible - inspired by the Norma to Marilyn story.

The social media campaign led by make-up-artistry icon, Pat McGrath and famous faces including renowned fashion model, Candice Swanepoel, Max Factor is inviting women to post their most glamorous transformation selfie using #GlamJan and a message about how good it feels to glam up. After all – why should January be about doing without, paring down your make-up and enduring diets, #GlamJan will open new possibilities for women, just like it did for Marilyn Monroe.
Max Factor Creme Puff Pressed Powder in Translucent
I would have to say that this is the first time I have ever tried powder from Max Factor. Considering that they have been around since the 1950s, plus they have a lot of products that I really like, this is the first time I am ever going to use this Creme Puff Pressed Powder.
Max Factor Creme Puff Pressed Powder in Translucent, PhP 575
It comes in a very simple pan like this one, which has already been revamped from their original packaging. Instead of the classic black cover, they have changed into the gold cover.
In spite of this powder being translucent, it sure doesn't look it when looking at the pan before swatching. When I did do a swatch test on my hand, it was pointless posting the photo because it really is translucent. I like the texture. It's silky and yet velvet-y to the touch and can be applied on the face with a velour puff or a powder brush.
I applied a thin layer of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and used a big powder brush to set my foundation. I noticed that the powder is very easy to pick up with a brush and you don't get to waste a whole lot unlike loose powder because this one is pressed. A lot of people say that the coverage is very good but I didn't notice that one with this translucent powder. Maybe on other shades. -And yes, this is my everyday look during my pregnancy. I just apply a very thin layer of foundation on my face and set with powder and apply lip balm. That's it! It looks drab, I now realize.

Going back to the Creme Puff pressed powder, the only thing I didn't like about this powder is the smell. I am not sure if that is my pregnancy talking or it really is too perfumed. All in all I would say that I really loved the soft velvet-y smooth finish of this powder. It also set my base quite well making it a few hours before retouching. This Creme Puff Pressed Powder is available in 7 shades – Translucent (which is what I reviewed here), Truly Fair, Medium Beige, Tempting Touch, Nouveau Beige, Natural and Golden.
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Volume and Curl Mascara
Since I just opened this mascara, the formula is still a little bit runny and too thin to see the maximum effect of the mascara. Usually, for a mascara to show its true effectiveness, one must wait until the formula has gone a little bit thick to be able to see the full effect of the mascara!
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Volume and Curl Mascara, PhP 595
I am truly loving the curved brush of this mascara. It makes application easier and you can really get in between those lashes so you can coat all the hairs evenly. I haven't seen a curved mascara brush like this in a long time.
To be fair, this mascara really did coat my lashes individually making them look thicker than they actually are. The only complain I have about most mascaras is that they don't hold the curl of my lashes. I spend a lot of time curling them with my favorite eyelash curlers, and yet only a few mascaras really holds the curl.
It did however lengthen my lashes so that is definitely a plus for me too! I just hope that when the mascara formula thickens a bit it would hold the curls. I will revisit this post when I have experimented on the mascara with a much thicker formula in a few days.
Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday
Now this product I know I will love. For those of you who have been following my blog or are friends of mine, then you would know that I am a red lippie kind of gal. So it's really no surprise that I would really love this lippie instantly.

I have read several times in different blogs that this is THE ultimate red lipstick. I would have to say that I agree. I think that only a handful of red lippies have that give a true-red pout. Some turn orange, or some turn pinkish.

Any bright lipstick brightens up the mood. It's a mood lifter and I must say that this one is for the books. There are several red lippies that I love, which come in several different levels of red. Some are of cherry-red shades and some are deeper.
Max Factor Global Creative Director, Pat McGrath comments:
"Marilyn Made the sultry red lip, creamy skin and dramatically lined eyes the most famous beauty look of the 1940's and it's a look that continues to dominate the beauty and fashion industry. It is the ultimate look that defines glamour - nothing else compares. This truly is a very lovely shade of red which I think would suit most Filipina skin tones and shades. I love that it is versatile. You can use it during the day or the evening for an instant glamorous look! I just love red lipstick!

This lipstick has a very creamy texture and it sort-of sets on the lips nicely. Not completely transfer proof but it's buildable, so you can be sure that not all of the color will leave your lips after just one sip of water from a glass. I also like that it has a creamy finish rather than a glossy finish which makes it very classy and chic, not cheap looking.
I love nail polish. I think they also dress up any outfit you may have on specially on casual days. Specially red nail polish. It makes the skin look fairer and slippers look more dressed up than they actually are.

Now, this is the first time I have tried Max Factor's nail polish so I was so surprised at how quick-drying they are! I just applied this nail polish on my hand and about 2 minutes later, I was ready to shoot it with the nail polish already set and dry. Perfect for those gals who quickly want a change in color of polish in the morning before heading out. No wonder this nail polish matched the lipstick shade perfectly, they're both called Ruby Tuesday!

MY #GLAMJAN LOOK
Ever since I got pregnant, for some reason I always opted in dressing for comfort and with that comes not putting any makeup at all.

But ever since I read about Max Factor's #GlamJan campaign, I was inspired to put a little bit more effort in glamour-ifying myself instead of looking sloppy right out the door. It may not be as fully made-up like this everyday, but I think I should invest more time in applying more coverage on my skin (to cover up spots and disguising the uber dry skin), bright cheeks, groomed brows, polished nails, and mood lifting lips.
I had lunch with my sister and her friends today and what better day to start looking like my old self pre-pregnancy. Every one thought I looked so nice and refreshing to see me with makeup again. Hehehe... I also felt so much better about myself. And guess what? Creating this simple look only took me 15 minutes so I think it is worth investing time on to transform from DRAB to GLAM!

I love that the red lipstick really brightened up my face and really updated my everyday drab look to something more chic without looking overly made up. Even if I skipped the liner and the falsies, I know I would still look pretty darn good.

I even wore my FreshLook colored contact lenses for maximum #GLAMJAN effect!

Me and along with Max Factor are encouraging YOU to embrace your own transformation by glamming up with makeup with  social engagement campaign called #GLAMJAN. The idea being that while January is a month typically associated with resolutions, diets and dreary "back to normality" after the party period, it is also a time when us women are open to new possibilities and change - so go ahead and post your most glamorous transformation selfies! We all love doing selfies, right? So just go ahead and inspire!

What is your #GLAMJAN transformation look? I would love to see! Post your before and after selfie on Max Factor Philippine's Facebook Page

(and tag me too) and use the hashtag #GLAMJAN! We would love to see your looks!
