#spotlight #productreview

The only time I get to wear makeup now-a-days is when I go out to go to the doctor. I am still on house arrest and have to rest as much as I can for me and future hunk/kikay on the way! I don't mind though, because I get to stay home and play with makeup as much as I can!

One of the collections I was most excited to try was K-Palette's 1 Day Magic Collection that was launched last July, which incidentally I was already about 3 weeks pregnant at that time but did't know!

So anyway, I had loads of time yesterday to take photos and try them out! Yay!

I have mentioned this in the past -I admire how the people who brought K-Palette here to Manila include english instructions in their packaging. They are very thorough and descriptive too so you can be sure that you are using the products right!
Here are the products from the collection unboxed. I love the whole pink, white and gold theme, making it look a little bit whimsical and carnival-ish (what?) I just love the kawaii packaging! Makes playing with makeup fun.
1-Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner, PhP 695 | 1-Day Magic 3D Palette, PhP 895 | 1-Day Magic Eye Glue Lid, PhP 650 |
1-Day Magic Fiber Mascara, PhP 895

Starting with the 1-Day Magic Eyeliner, if you look at it from one angle, you can see that one side can be used to apply a thicker line, and when you turn it around (encircled), you can apply a much thinner line. Not all eyeliners are made the same. This is one of the special traits this eyeliner has. It's very easy to control, and it makes doing cat-eyes a lot easier.
Here are swatches from either sides of the eyeliner tip. One side creates a much thicker line, while the other side, a much finer line which is actually quite easy to control since it glides on easily on your skin. No meet to pull or tug on your skin to create that smooth, flawless line.

I just did a cat-eye liner look that I have been doing for years. I found that it made my life a lot easier because the pen is so easy to control! You will see the photo below on how my liner-look looks.
The mascara however, is nothing I have seen before. At the event, I was really fascinated with this mascara because usually, brands that have fibers in their mascara is already built-in. While the 1-Day Magic Fiber Mascara has a separate step.
Here's a little tip from me: Use the black mascara first to coat all the hairs of your eyelashes. Before they dry completely, use the fiber end of the mascara and coat the top and the under part of your lashes. Careful not to apply too much or you'll end up a little but clumpy. And then, but the time you are ready to apply your second coating of black mascara, the fibers would have then stuck to your first coat making it easy to apply the second layer of your black mascara.

The results are amazing. You will look like you have false eyelashes on, making your eyes look wide-eye which makes a trendy kawaii Japanese makeup look. Japanese kawaii makeup look has one goal, to make your face look thinner, youthful, and of course kawaii -and for those of you who have been living under a rock, KAWAII actually means CUTE in Japanese. Awww.... isn't that just so kawaii??
Now, moving on the the kawaii blush (can I say kawaii more?), I love how you can use them individually or swirl them all together with a big blush brush and create a lovely glow on your cheeks! Of course I followed the instructions at the back of the packaging to a T to show you how it is recommended.
The palette comes in a quad that looks like this (photo above), you can see that you won't be able to use a long-handle blush brush because the devisions are quite small. So you will have to use the brush that comes with the palette.

Don't panic though! The brushes actually quite good! It doesn't leave any streaks on your cheeks and it makes blending real well! Well, gotta trust the Japanese right? That's why I love Japanese makeup and packaging!
Individual swatching, you can see how subtle the shades are, they are not shockingly pigmented. I actually had to layer it on just so you can see it on camera, but the shades are actually quite subtle. I don't have a swatch where I combined them altogether! It looked pretty damn good as well!
According to the photo on the packaging, this is how they applied their kawaii blush. It gives a very youthful appearance, and it makes the cheekbones seem higher, hence making the face loo slimmer. I applied highlight on top of my cheekbones, and contoured my temples and the sides of my chin (just like the illustration on the packaging) giving the illusion of a narrow face.

If you would like to see how I applied the 1-Day Eye Glue Lid, check out my post on the K-Palette MEGA CUTE which is petty much the same on how to apply it and create a double lid! It's very tricky to apply and takes a lot of practice, but once you get the hang of it, it's really quite something else! OH! Did I mention that it doubles as a false eyelash adhesive? And quite effective too!

Here is the kawaii look that I have created on myself. I must admit, I do look younger and youthful with this kind of technique! My eyes look bigger, and my cheeks look radiant! I finished my look with Maybelline's POW 2 Pink Alert by ColorSensational, and topped with Maybelline's POP 5 Lip Polish.
In conclusion, I would recommend these products, You don't have to own all from the collection (of you can if you want!) but choose the ones that you think you can make the most use out of. Like for me? If I were to choose a favorite, I would say that I would have to go with the eyeliner... or maybe the blush... maybe the mascara. Oh who am I kidding? I would take them all!

Oh, by the way, for my perfect brows I used K-Palette's Lasting 2Way Eyebrow, and K-Palette's 1Day Tattoo Eyebrow Mascara.
