Holy Smokes!

by - Thursday, October 04, 2012

Let me tell you, smoky eyes never go out of style. Whether it is Winter, Spring, Summer of Fall, smoky eyes seem to be every makeup lover's favorite look.

My friend and Preview Magazine's Beauty Director, Agoo Bengzon, gave me a beautiful Smoky Eyeshadow palette from The Body Shop. And now, thanks to her, I am now obsessed with these palettes that I must own all palettes!

The palette comes with 4 stunning shades in Ice White, Charcoal Black, Marble Grey, and a creamy shadow in Silver. The palette comes with instructions on how to do the basic (quick-way) Smoky eye look. I decided to follow the instructions to the letter to see if it really was easy to follow.

The instructions were pretty easy to follow. It didn't come with text instructions only illustrations, but it was basically in layman's terms. How can it get any more idiot proof than illustrated instructions? It was such a delight! Ha!

The texture of the eyeshadows are a little chalky. I didn't think it would be easy to blend but surprisingly, it was so easy to blend and create that smoky look! You can blend the shades in light strokes so your eyelids won't get raw from blending!

The pencil however was a little stiff. It is black as black could possibly be, but it didn't glide easily against my skin. Anyhoo, here is the finished look:

Sorry, I had too much fun with Photobooth. LOL But I love how pigmented the eyeshadow was! I love this palette!! Thanks AGOO!! Here are some black and white shots... I love how the smoky look looked on B&W!

So what's the verdict? BUY! BUY! If this palette still had other colors in store, I would definitely get myself more shades to try! LOVE!

What do you think?

My how-to video for this palette will be posted soon on my YouTube channel! Stay tuned!
