Revlon Highlighting Palette in Peach Glow

#aboutface

I love highlighters but not just any kind of highlighters, my specifications for a good highlighter are countless. And when it comes to bronzers, I like them not making you look too orange or muddy, I love bronzers that make you look glowing, and give your face a warmth if you have overdone it with the foundation and the powder.

Revlon launched Highlighting Palettes in 3 shades – Rose Glow, Peach Glow and Bronze Glow. They have made different shades available for different skin tones so everyone can be sure that they have a shade for their skin tone. I think Peach Glow is the most versatile of them all.

So, let's take a quick look on the Revlon Peach Glow Highlighting Palette shall we? This product by Revlon has 5 strips of different complementing shades. Most of them are variations of yellow gold, peach, bronze, and copper. If you want to have a subtle highlight, then I suggest going with this shade.

This reminds me of Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick, or if you want a "steal version" of this, you can try Collection Cosmetics Shimmer Shades in Way to Glow (PhP 349.00 each).
When it comes to the texture and the formula. Revlon Peach Glow Highlighting Palette has a soft, buttery, and smooth texture. Despite of the palette being loaded with iridescent powders it doesn’t feel gritty or rough to the touch, and it doesn't dry out or feel chalky. However with each sweep of brush I can see fallouts, but it's not extreme that you lose a whole lot of product each time.

Highlighting Powder does tend to emphasize pores making them look large. But if you are looking for just right amount of highlight/sculpt for daytime or night, this palette is an excellent choice. Shimmers are finely milled and don’t look chunky making your face look glittery and dirty.
It's strange why they call this palette a highlighting powder though because it looks more like a bronzer and a sculpting powder to me. Yes, it does have the iridescent particles but the shade is not at all for highlighting. You will look too bronzed when you apply this powder on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin, so I use this as a bronzer to warm my cheeks and my face, and use the last two shades to highlight my cheekbones, forehead, nose bridge, and chin.
So what you do, is that you swirl your brush on the palette to mix the shades together and apply on your cheekbones and blend.
I really love the warmth it gives my face because I usually end up with a base that's too light for my skin. Even though my base matches me perfectly, I just look too pale or too white. So I add this on my cheekbones, and my temples and around my hairline to give my face a good bronze-y glow.
I would however use this highlighting powder sparsely, because you don't want to have that Julio Iglesias tan. So use only on areas where you would normally burn naturally when you've been out in the sun.
