Caring for your layered hair!

by - Friday, February 20, 2009

Getting a style done is a matter of visiting a stylist and having them work on the hair to bring about a creative difference to one's personality.

Well, after cutting and styling the final blow dry is what makes the hair look stunning, till one washes it at home. This is the point from where one has to begin the task of caring for layered hairstyles. And it is not too difficult to do so; nor is it too time consuming.

For many caring for their layers, is about simply washing, drying and combing; professional stylists insist that there is a little more. For instance, whether the hair is damaged or not, one should ideally use a leave on conditioner, or hair serum after wash to ensure that pollutants and weather changes do no affect the texture of the hair.

Apart from that even the type of shampoo and conditioner needs to be taken into consideration. This is important, as sometimes getting carried away by brands and fragrances can end up damaging the hair far more than expected. Thus, it is vital to consult a specialist before making the purchase, as they would recommend the hair wash product according to the damage level and texture of the hair.

When it comes to colored, damaged hair, one needs to ensure that moisture rich shampoo and conditioner is used, along with a non-greasy leave in conditioner or hair serum.

Apart from that one should avoid blow-drying the hair too often. One should also oil the hair, by massaging the scalp with warm oil, before every wash.
