Warm Up the Cooler "-Ber" months with Pixy!

by - Friday, November 14, 2014

While everyone is into metallics this coming Christmas season, warm up this holiday with warm earthy hues. If you are not really into shimmer or glitter, metallics or sparkles then this may just be the thing you would want to sport!

I know of friends who are beach girls and are sun kissed all year round and they always look so good looking all tan, glowing and earthy!

This brand, Pixy, not to be confused by Pixi by Petra, is an Indonesian brand, but made from Japanese quality materials. Products that were developed to cater specially for Asian skin! Formulated to enhance the natural beauty that is truly Asian. Ok, I just sounded like a tag line, but it is what it is! That's why Pixy is a great makeup brand to start with if you are looking to update your look.

Pixy Cosmetics Blush On | Pixy Cosmetics Eye Shadow Duo

I specially love Pixy's Colors of Delight Lipsticks because of the high pigments and lasting power. So going back to these two new products from Pixy, they only have limited shades for now for both the blush and the eyeshadow duos, but the shades that are available are basics so are very wearable.
I would have loved to view more shades from their blush range but their Facebook page doesn't contain that much info. As far as I know, they only have a few shades available for now (six shades available according to their Indonesia-speaking website -I'm not sure if these shades are all available in Manila though). I will make sure and update you guys!

I like their simple pink packaging. No fuss no  frills!Although it's not typical of Japanese packaging though. Some people call this a Japanese brand but I know in fact that this is an Indonesian brand. Hmm... I will do my research gals and will update you again on this. I just hope Pixy provides more information in their Facebook page. The link to their website is in Indonesian so I can't do my research in their website.

The packaging has Indonesian instructions but ask in English. This is just how imported packaging should be. Always provide English instructions so that people would know what they will be putting on their faces. So kudos to Pixy on this!
This blush shade from Pixy actually reminds me so much of Shu Uemura's Glow-on blush in P Vivid Orange 571! It's actually a steal version of the Shu Uemura blush but this one is more subtle than Shu's which is more pigmented. Plus Shu's got more gold fine shimmers.
I love the soft glow this blush gives. It's buildable too! Although it doesn't build on some color, it builds on a soft glow of a peachy-orange hue that is best applied on the apples of your cheeks. Since it reflects a lot of light, it is best concentrated on those areas. I wouldn't contour with this though. It's also great to be applied on top of your cheekbones or directly on them to give your face a good highlight and lift.
The same goes with their eye shadows. According to their website, this particular eyeshadow duo is available in eight combination duos. I would love to try other shades!
Pixy Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Sorrel Brown 02, Price to be updated
Infused with Micro-Pearls, these eye shadows provide a glow to your lids without making you look too disco-fever shimmery on the eyes. It provides depth and dimension on your lids if you need them to. It's a basic eye shadow that young girls can start with without the overwhelming choices on the counter, and for women who need makeup for work can start with duos too because the shades match in each duo palette.
You can see that these shades provide a sheen, sheer of color without overwhelming need for blending. It's smooth and can be applied with fingers as well. It required minimal skills ton blend so it's a good brand to start with if you are just starting to get into makeup, or eye makeup for that matter.
I used a bronzer to contour my cheekbones, temples, and my hair lines with Collection Cosmetics Shimmer Shades in Way to Glow and I also blended my Pixy Carnation Bloom Blush with Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop to make the Pixy blush stand out more since Pixy's blush is very subtle and sheen. to give my face a more warm feel. I couldn't use all orange because I might look flat them being all in the same color family.

On my eyes, I applied a wash of the orange shade (lighter shade) from my lash lines up to above my creases and blended it real well with a clean brush. And then with the darker brown shade, I defined my lash lines with it to create a soft dimension.

Oh and by the way, I am loving the shape of my eyebrows. I just love how put together it looks and neat! I had it done at the Benefit's Brow Bar at the Beauty and Brows Event! You can have brows like these too!
Yes, affordable cosmetics (in other words, cheap cosmetics) have really good quality and are up to par with big names now a days. Now, CHEAP doesn't necessarily mean they use poor quality ingredients and that their packaging is less than of superior quality. I love that other brands are starting to provide the younger market with affordable cosmetics. A lot of Filipinas now are beginning to enjoy the art of putting on makeup, and how important it is to look good. If you look good, then you feel good!

I just don't get why some people misconstrue people who wear makeup as being "maarte" or "malandi". People should start getting over that. HELLO! Welcome to the 21st century!
