#liptalktuesdays

I know it's supposed to be #liptalktuesdays, but this week's Lip Talk includes some Cheek Talk as well! The Body Shop introduces Geisha Doll Lip and Cheek Stain this Holiday Season!

I must tell you, The Body Shop has really been impressing me lately with their products. Not anymore famous just for their lotions and body sprays, their cosmetics are really starting to level up! Now out with their Geisha Doll Lip and Cheek Stain, it's the perfect gift for kikay girls this Christmas! Once you see how this cute little product looks, you will totally fall in love with it! I know I did when I first opened it!
The Body Shop Geisha Doll Lip and Cheek Stain, PhP 995
It works really well because you don't have to blend it in a panic before it sets! LOL For those of you who are an avid lip and cheek stain user, you know what I am talking about! Remember the classic and original The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain back in high school? Well, now their back with a much attractive packaging, and thrice the amount of the original tube!

More about the Geisha Doll after the break.

The original TBS Lip and Cheek Stain was much harder to apply back then. It sets quite easily into a stain so you will have to channel your inner Barry Allen as the Flash to be able to blend it before it stains permanently on your cheeks.

Enriched with Marula oil -Marula oil comes from the ripened fruit of the marula tree which is native to many parts of central and southern Africa. The women of the co-operative extract the kernels from ripe marula fruits by hand, then cold-press the kernels at their factory to extract the marula oil inside.
The Geisha Doll allows you an ample amount of time to blend it nicely on the apples of your cheeks and on your cheek bones before they set and stains on your skin the whole day. Which incidentally goes the same way when applying on your lips. It gives you enough time to wipe off mistakes before it dries.

The formula is not as watery or runny as the Snoe Lippy Cheeky Anti-Oxidant Lip and Cheek Stain, but even with the thicker formula, it looks as natural as they come!
Unfortunately, the Japanese Furoshiki wrapping is only for the press kits, but It's easy to wrap it this way if you wanna give them as gifts! Just buy a huge handkerchief to wrap it. I attended K-Pallete Mega Cute event last year and they taught us how to wrap Furoshiki style, you can check out the link to know how to wrap them that way! So easy!

Isn't the container just adorable?
I am loving this product because it's so perfect for any age group. Tweens will get to enjoy it as much as adults will! Adults who do not want to wear a lot of makeup, or moms who do not want their tweens to wear too much products as well.

FULL INGREDIENTS
Aqua/Water/Eau (Solvent), Glycerin (Humectant), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Panthenol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Methylparaben (Preservative), Mica (Opacifying Agent), Aminomethyl Propanol (pH Adjuster), Tin Oxide (Opacifying Agent), CI 17200/Red 33 (Colorant), CI 19140/Yellow 5 (Colorant), CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide (Colorant), CI 77491/Iron Oxides (Colorant).
It's not as creamy or balmy as D'ORganiq Lippie and Cheekie Stain, but it does remind me a little bit of Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Lip and Cheek Gel which has more or less the same consistency.
The Geisha Doll has a much brighter red than the original lip and cheek stain which looks a bit more on the deeper maroonish side than bright red like this one. The formula is a little bit thicker too. But the new thicker consistency doesn't make it any less spreadable, it's actually feeling a little bit like jelly to the touch and quite pigmented.

This special edition lip and cheek stain is sprinkled with gold glitter (which is not really that visible when you apply it, but I guess it's somewhere in there), that will make you sparkle like Christmas morning during the holidays!
The watch may look wildly red, but on the cheeks they look very natural.  I am wearing a light dusting of mineral powder on my face and I applied the Geisha Doll Lip and Cheek tint on top for my cheeks. So that is obviously applicable on top of powder and it won't cake up!

The effect on the lips is actually even better! It looks like it has just been bitten and it looks irresistibly kissable (*giggle*) I like how it is non-drying on the lips and it's actually a little bit moisturizing. I'm not saying it's like lip balm, but it also doesn't cause the lips to chap at all!

I am not much of a Lip and Cheek Tint/Stain user, well at least not since 6th grade, but this newly formulated lip and cheek tint had made me love them all over again!

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:
Length of usage before review: On and off for about a month.

PROS
  • Does not dry quickly so you are given enough time to blend well on your cheeks and on your lips.
  • Looks very natural!
  • Skin-adjusting. Will suit any skin tone or color (either fair or dark skin)
  • Smells pleasant.
  • Non-irritating.
  • Non-drying. Keeps the skin moisturized.
  • Cute packaging, affordable too!
  • Easily available.
  • Contains more product than the original lip and cheek tint.
  • Can be applied on bare skin or on powder.
  • Best for any skin type, either oily or dry skin!
  • Safe for pregnant women, or women with sensitive skin.
  • Can be layered for more intensity.

NEUTRAL
  • If this is your first time to use tints/stains, it takes a few tries to get used to it.

CONS
  • Best applied only with fingers, and it stains the fingers once it sets.
  • Limited edition packaging only, so better stock up!

  1. When I was during my high school days, I only use liptints and lipbalms. I noticed that you mentioned about the gold glitter? Really?! I haven't used any lipstains with gold glitters! and I also wonder how does the lip stain tastes? was it sweet? :D I accidentally taste my lipstains since some doesn't dry quickly.

  6. I discovered The Body Shop Shea Body Butter back in high school and was amazed at how it was able to lighten my ashy ankles and elbows. The funny part? I wasn't even in it to get lighter skin, but I just wanted general hydration. :)
