#aboutface

When I did my review for Lancôme's BB Cream, I mentioned Bobbi Brown's BB Cream's coverage for comparison with Lancôme. I wanted to link my mention to my review to Bobbi Brown but I realized I haven't made a review on this yet! It won my beauty awards last year but I didn't realize that I haven't made a review on it yet. So ladies, here it is!

Bobbi Brown BB Cream SPF35 PA+++, PhP 2,350

I have always adored Bobbi Brown's über chic packaging so I will skip that part. I have been a fan of BB Creams from Japan and Korea, and if you are a reader of my blog, you would have known that by now.

Bobbi Brown's attempt to join the BB Cream craze is very well deserved. Her line has always promoted great skin, and skin-like looking makeup so it's no surprise that all-american brand Bobbi Brown has come out with their very own version of BB Cream.
I love the portable and compact tube that it comes with. It's slim so it's very easy to take with you when you travel.

According to their website:
"Developed by Bobbi Brown for customers who want a product with serious skincare and makeup benefits, this all-in-one cream perfects and smoothes skin’s appearance—instantly and over time. Offered in three natural looking, skin tone correct shades, this lightweight, easily buildable formula evens out and gives skin a lit-from-within glow. Skin is filled with moisture as oil and shine are kept at bay. Plus SPF helps protect skin against UVA/UVB damage. In a short while, fine lines and wrinkles appear less noticeable, visible redness is reduced and pores appear more refined."
It has a very light weight, but with a very creamy consistency. Ignore the shade though. At the event, the Bobbi Brown beauty associate recommended this shade for me but as it turned out it was way too dark for me. So anyway, I had to give it to my sister who is better matched for this shade than my own. I didn't want it to go to waste.

It's very easy to apply. Like a water-based liquid foundation but it has medium coverage. It has a dewy finish so you will have to set it with powder if you do not like the dewy finish.
My sister dropped by my house today to have her hair and makeup done, so it was the perfect timing to feature this product! I have used this BB Cream on myself about 3 times so I can make a good use out of it but it really comes out too dark, specially after a few minutes because I am acidic.

So this BB Cream has been sitting in my dresser for a while now, so finally I was able to give it to my sister. She doesn't wear makeup much as well so I give her most of her makeup. Anyway, my sister is prone to freckles, so you can see some of them which are darker than the others shine through above the BB Cream, while the less prominent ones are hidden.

She also has dark circles and this BB Cream was able to cover that! I didn't even have to color correct. The coverage of this product really is awesome, without the weight of a cream foundation.
I also did her hair which is a simple pony tail with volume and curled at the ends. If her hair was longer it would have shown more of the curls but she just recently cut it. If you are an avid reader of my blog then you would know that I can't do hair to save my life!

But recently, I started learning for myself because of all the events that I have to attend. I can't keep attending my events in a ponytail so I learned how to curl my hair and what do you know, I learned how! Today is the day I put my knowledge and my newly found skeelz to the test! Not bad I must say!

In the short time that I used this BB Cream on myself, I found it such a convenient product because it glides on smoothly on the skin and provides great coverage for a BB Cream. Plus, it has a lot of skin benefiting ingredients that eventually lightens dark spots in time.

  1. Hi Sabs, I have non-acidic combination skin and I've used both foundations and BB's in the past, but I'm looking for that ultimate everyday-use formula that would work best with my skin. I tested na the foundation from Bobbi Brown, but I actually didn't get a chance to look at the BB Cream. Would you recommend the Bobbi Brown foundation or BB for my skin type? And does this SPF 35 leave a white cast?
