Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF50 PA+++ (Product Review)
Hey ladies! Ugh. Sorry it took so long for me to post this. I usually post first thing in the morning, but I was suffering from bad stomach flu and I just felt nauseated and had my stomach twisting in nots. Gross. But thank God I feel so much better now, I am able to sit down and finish this post.
SO HERE IT IS! As promised, here is a review on Bobbi Brown's new Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF 50 PA+++.
The era of everything in cushion form has begun! Bobbi Brown Cosmetics which is a high-end professional makeup brand announced that this coming spring, they are coming out with their new addition to their foundation family: its a new cushion foundation. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact has been recently presented in Asia and it's already been causing a lot of buzz in the beauty world.
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF 50+++, Price TBA |
Instead of the usual bottle with a pump, this one comes with the latest in beauty trend, the cushion. It promises to deliver the right amount of makeup with each press of the cushion.
The compact is refillable and each pod is vacuum sealed so you get fresh foundation each time. I love how it is cased in a sturdy, classy, and chic compact. At the Bobbi Brown Spring Summer 2016 Collection launch, it was demoed that you can also use this foundation with your foundation brush of choice, so that's what I did.
And so with my favorite SOFFIA Opulence Perfect Skin Foundation Brush, I used it to apply the foundation on my skin and as usual, it did not disappoint. Let's get onto that in a little bit, let's talk about formulation.
It has a very runny and water-like consistency, and it glides on smoothly on the surface of the skin. Bobbi Brown foundation can be as light as you want them to be but can also be buildable when you want more coverage. I love how BB always provides yellow-based products which is really great on Asian skin.
In spite of it being runny, the feel of it when you glide them in between your fingertips, it feels creamy and silky. I thought at first that the shade could be too light for me. I am not as fair as I used to be lately because I have been doing a lot of walking outside with Henri. But after putting it on, it was a spot on match.
BARE FACE |
A single dip of the foundation brush on the cushion, is enough to cover half of my face which makes this foundation economical too! Just a little goes a long way. I just applied the foundation in small circular motions on my face and the finish is really buffed.
I love how it feels like second skin, and how it has a tinted moisturizer feel on the face, which is perfect for our humid climate! It doesn't cake or does it have a pooling effect on the skin. Its watery consistency keeps the skin extremely hydrated, but it stays on all day.
Using Ben Nye's Banana Powder to set my foundation, I used a velour puff this time to completely press the foundation onto my skin to give a heavier coverage. I also used the velour puff to set my foundation because I was sweating like anything in my bathroom that I had to use something to somewhat pat dry the slight mist of sweat on my nose and chin.
I can definitely say that this foundation has been labeled as a HG foundation in my book. I love foundations that are flexible on the skin and qualities in a product that would would make you look like you just have beautiful skin. People should see beautiful skin, not thick foundation, and I think Bobbi Brown's new Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF 50 PA+++ will help you achieve that.
On a different note, don't you just love this liquid lipstick shade from OFRA (this shade is MOCHA)? I am in love with OFRA's liquid lipsticks because they really stay on the lips like a tattoo.
So, have you tried the cushion technology in makeup? What do you think? Let me know by leaving comments below!
