That's it. I found the perfect red, and I found the perfect formula for it too. It's so easy for me to pour my heart into this because I fell in love with this lippie from Sleek Cosmetics the moment I tried it on.

I have been familiar with Sleek Cosmetics for as long as I have been a makeup artist. One of the products that I frequented were the Pout Paints. I would ask relatives who lived abroad to buy them for me because it was unavailable here.

But now that Sleek has been launched here, I am over the roof happy because they have some pretty serious and competitive stuff that every makeup artist would enjoy!
Sleek Makeup Matte Me Lip Cream in Rioja Red, PhP 450
I think I have way too many red lipsticks, some shades and hues are the same so it's really now the consistency and the feel on my lips is my basis on telling which one I love wearing. Of course it's a bonus when the shade/hue is what I feel like wearing, plus it has the perfect finish and feel on my lips.
For those of you who are not familiar with Sleek Matte Me Lip creams, it's a liquid lipstick that goes on like a cream or like a mousse (I think it's more of a mousse-y feel) and dries to a matte/velvet like finish. It comes in a tube similar to a lipgloss and is applied with the wand applicator with usually a velour tip. Today I am going to talk about the shade Rioja Red which is a best-selling bright red that is lovely but not for the shy or weak at heart. Now I know why it's been labeled on of its best sellers.
I ain't going to sugar coat it though, this lipstick should come with a caution label -this color isn't the most forgiving color to apply. It’s so bright and pigmented that one wrong move could make the difference between Coco Chanel and the JOKER. The formula itself is easy enough to apply as it glides on very well without any hicks, however I suggest lining the lips first with a liner as a guide to avoid it getting very messy, specially if you are one to have to shape your lips before filing them in.
The products itself is seriously pigmented! It is so rich and potent when it comes to color that you need to use extra caution when applying. Make sure that you start with as little product on your wand when applying because you can end up with a messy lip line. They were serious when they said that you only need one coat of the stuff because one slick is plenty to get a decent finish.

The texture is super smooth and the cream glides on easily. It dries to a matte finish that is anything but drying nor is it sticky on the lips. It dries fast but not too fast that it becomes difficult to spread and even out.
The effect? True to colour and super smooth. It glides on like water on your lips. Not oily, or creamy, or mousse-y, but like WATER. It gives a velvety soft finish on the lips which is like second skin on your lips like it was tattooed. For real.

I would be extra cautious if you have dry and flaky lips though as I can imagine it would cling like a bee-yotch on any lumps or bumps on the surface. So exfoliate your lips before you use it, this is really not a con in using this product because one should regularly exfoliate the lips anyway.

I wouldn't recommend using a balm before using this because I noticed that the formula changed and it had a sticky, tacky feel on the lips when I smack my lips together for some reason.
I love everything about Matte Me -Loved the color and the velvety matte finish, and the texture is nothing like I’ve used before so I am very sold. I love how it glides like water on the lips and how tattooed it looks on the surface too.

I hear some people compare the finish to Lime Crimes Velvetines range, but I personally think that the way it goes on the lips is different.
