#liptalktuesdays

One of the best things about tropical countries that have no seasons is that you can wear as much pink lipsticks you want in different shades all year round. I love pink. Aside from the fact that it can brighten up any one's skin tone and face, it is the only lipstick color that photographs best.

I love Happy Skin. I think their lippies have a good formula and it's very moisturizing too! They may be a new brand but they are showing a lot of promise in bringing us more great products. And for their first collaboration, queen of talk Kris Aquino partners with Happy Skin to create this beautiful pink lippie for you (and me)!

Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Valentine Kiss (Limited Edition), PhP 549.00

I was so thrilled when I received my limited edition Happy Skin lippie because I jus loooove pink lipsticks. Plus! Collaborations are always exciting! (Thank you Happy Skin!)

I don't know if this beautiful packaging is a gift bag that you can request for gifts, or if this is their bag when you buy Happy Skin products. So kawaii!

As usual, Happy Skin's packaging impressed me and beyond. I almost didn't want to use the lippie because it looks too cute to use! I'll just stare at it. Hahaha!

Kris Aquino's "stamp" of approval, her signature pop pink shade that was specially created for her and now shares them with you!

I love the lipstick shade too. Very cute and sweet it's almost not me. Hahaha! Everyone knows I am not the sweet girly kind of gal, but whenever I use their skin-benefiting products I always feel uber girly!

When you look at the shade on the tube, you would think that the shade is a dark old rose shade. I thought the shade was going to be a dull/boring shade of pink to be honest.

But when you swatch it on your hand, the shade is a fun shade of pink that has a bit of purple undertone. Kris calls this "universal pink" because it can be worn by whichever age group!

She worked closely with Happy Skin to create this perfect shade of pink that would mirror her fun and quirky personality.

I love how the lippie glides on like balm on the skin and on the lips. Not that you would use the lippie  other than your lips, but the lipstick glides on my skin like silk.

This shade reminds me a little bit of MAC's Pink Nouveau Lipstick which has a purple undertone too. But this one is not matte and it feels like a balm.

Some people may get a little intimidated with the purplish shade/hue it gives, but try it! Because this shade looks good on everyone. It has a little bit of holographic effect in my eyes, but very very subtle.

I love how it can brighten up your entire look even with just a base, cheeks and brows! I have nothing on my eyes but still, I look very well put together! Always go for natural looking makeup.

Remember, less is more. You want to enhance your beauty, not hide behind all that makeup!

On my face: Happy Skin Don't Get Mad Get Even Foundation in Soft Beige, Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine Free Cake Powder in Natural, K-Palette Lasting 2Way Eyebrow in 02, ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder, Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Valentine Kiss

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:

PROS
  • Very moisturizing! Can soften tough flakes on the lips.
  • Extremely pigmented.
  • Easily available.
  • Very affordable!
  • Long-lasting, bot not kiss-proof.
  • Shade is versatile for either the day or the evening.
  • Feels like a lip balm.
  • With prolonged use, there will be a lot of benefits on your skin!
  • Pointed tip makes it easy to line the lips.
  • Glossy but not high-shine!
  • May be used during whatever season.
  • The shade is bright but you can still pair it with a smokey/dark eye makeup look.

NEUTRAL
  • Fragrance-free.
  • It may make dark skin appear darker (for some).

CONS
  • Limited Edition. If I run out... I won't be able to buy it anymore!

HOW I USE IT: Use the tip of the lippie and line the lips. Fill in the lips and blot and reapply about 3 times to make the color last a long time!

Will I re-purchase? Yes.
Will I recommend it? Yes.

MY OVERALL RATING: ★★★★★★

  1. I detest (well not really) pink-purple shades because they make me look sick (huhu) and sometimes tend to make my teeth look too yellow in photos (waaaaaah!) but this one looks soooooooo pretty that I might slip and order one for myself!

  2. This looks very nice when swatched, I thought it would come out as a mauve shade. =)

  4. Yes that's right :) We all have different levels of acidity on our faces and lips that's why lipsticks, foundations, and blushes change from person to person because of the acidity :) My face has a different acidity from Kris Aquino that's why it's not exactly the same. Thanks for dropping by! Good morning! ♥

  5. While this color isn't quite my cup of tea, I have to admit that it's all Kris. They got her signature color down pat. :)) That's something Happy Skin can explore: Creating LE lippie collabs with celebs and designers. If the color turns out fantastic, I'd hate that I wouldn't be able to repurchase, but they could sell for P549 and have them sell like hotcakes. It's a win for them. :p
