Sabs' 2009 Prom Looks

by - Sunday, November 23, 2008

Prom is just around the corner, and bright lips are in! Here is Bea Soriano modeling some of my Prom looks for 2009! I included step-by-step instructions for you to Get the look!

Metallic Lips!

If you would like to pull off the metallic lip-look, keep your face matte and keep the shadows to a minimum shimmer.

1. Start by putting on a good base. Keep the face matte.

2. The lips should make a statement, but that doesn't mean you can't have a bit of fun with your eyes! Do a slight smokey eye and finish off by layering 3 coats of mascara. Better yet, use falsies!

3. Make your eyebrows bold, neat and thick but plucking them clean and well trimmed. Use a brow gel to get the shape you want, and set them in place with an eyebrow mascara.

4. Keep your cheeks fresh looking by using a sheer mousse blush in the same color tone as your lips. Slight shimmer is good but not too much glitter!

4. Choose a lip color that best suites the color of your skin in baby-hues. Keep them in pastel tones. Proms are usually held before summer so it's nice to keep the colors in tone with the season. Once you have chosen your base, top it off with clear lip gloss. Then, get the lightest metallic eyeshadow you have that is almost the same color as your lips stick and scrape off the tops and dip your lip brush in. Apple them to your lips to get that metallic effect!

Be Pink and Dewy!
I have always loved the dewy look! I think that this projects glowing skin and makes you look very youthful and un-made up.

1. Start by putting on a good base. Don't set with a whole lot of powder to keep the skin looking dewy. If that doesn't work for you, set with lots of powder, then spray your face with water and let air dry.

2. Use an eyeshadow color that goes very well with pink. I used a soft pastel green on Bea because I think this goes very well with her healthy tanned skin.

3. I used an apricot blush with slight shimmer to bring out her tanned skin more.

4. Make your eyebrows bold, neat and thick but plucking them clean and well trimmed. Use a brow gel to get the shape you want, and set them in place with an eyebrow mascara.

5. Line your lips with the brightest shade of pink that you have. Applying brightly colored lipsticks can be very tricky so you need a lip liner so you can be guided. Fill in your lips with the same liner then top off with a bright colored pink. Blot, then repeat.

6. For more "umph!", add lip gloss!

Silver and Coral

Repeat steps from "Be pink and dewy", except you use silver shadow with a touch of blue. I also added Lancôme's glitter liner on her upper lash line for added sparkly effect!
